What do we know?
Well I know that there are 52 cards total in a full deck, with two jokers. I know that there are four pairs of aces, twos, threes, fours, fives, sixes, sevens, eights, nines, tens, jacks, queens, and kings. I know that a card trick is a action with cards that leaves the audience memorized and wondering. I already know a few card tricks, like how to guess the card that they were thinking of or make a correct guess.
What did we learn?
I learned a lot of new tricks and skills in this passion time round. I learned that you can do a lot of awesome tricks with a regular deck, but then you might need a special deck with duplicate cards are more than 52 cards in it. I would have to say that my favorite trick that I learned is a two card monte, I couldn't put it on my video because it involves a huge crowd.
What do we want to know?
I want to know some more card tricks that nobody can fugue out. I want the audience to be thinking for a while after I preform. I want to do tricks that start of with cards but then finish with something even bigger.
What action did we take?
First I just got a deck of cards and then I just started making you tube video's and then put those on my website. I just kept doing that process until I had a good amount of video's.
How will I learn the information?
I will create my own card tricks, watch videos on how to them, and read books.
What questions do we still have?
There are still so many more card tricks out there to learn and preform. I mean it doesn't even have to be card tricks, it could be any type of magic trick. Like their is this really cool trick where they can squeeze a deck of cards inside a balloon, pull the whole deck out, except the card that the spectator picked.
I really liked working on my topic and doing a lot of fun an awesome magic tricks, I preformed a few tricks that I already new but I also learned a lot of new tricks. Something that was a bit challenging to me was learning some of the card tricks were tricky too understand, I also created a few of my own and that was hard too. But once I got the hang of everything, it was a breeze. I feel that I got a lot out doing this passion time project, and I also think that people who visit my website will get a lot out of this too!
This project was fun to do because I got to make my own thing. I would definitely do another project just like it because it was not to much resurrect it was more showing you how to do it. I learned that it takes a lot of time to do and make because I had a lot of trial and error. I did enjoy doing it again because I learned from my mistakes and got to make the new one better. Now my board does not fall apart and I made it look a lot better. I would definitely do another kind of board if I had time. I think that I got to accomplish a lot in the time, I got to do a lot of videos. I think that I captured almost everything in my videos.
Can we figure out which super car is the best by comparing the different categories and adding them up? By: Jeremy and Ben
Ben's Reflection -I really enjoyed this project because me and Jeremy really worked well together ranking the cars. We also found out the best car and the predicted one won! The Koenigsegg Agera R. I also really enjoyed researching the cars and ranking them at the end because then we truly found out, which car was the best. I liked calculating the scores because me and Jeremy really worked together at that point, by me telling him the stats and him typing it in. gathering the facts was not that hard, the winning car had a lot of facts but the other cars had just the basic things to know. I really liked doing this type of project because it was different from other ones and I like that because then it stands out as a project. That was what I thought about our project and I hope my partner Jeremy thinks the same!
Reflection: Overall this was a really fun project. I learned many things about the Copiapó mining accident and how the miners survived. My favorite part about this project was learning all about my topic. I probably now know ten times more facts than I knew before I started this project. This is the same way for my other two passion time projects. My least favorite part about this project was that I had a fact that said each miner would have to pay £ 202121.212121 for mining damages. I couldn’t find any website or source that could convert how much £’s is $’s but nothing popped up on the web. I just wish that we all used the same exact money system. I hope others learn many things about this project and tell others.
I think i did really well and hard because I had to really rush. It was hard to get all the facts and all the animals I did. I got this done in about five days but it was very hard but worth it. One thing is should change next time is have what I want to research before hand. And probably look in some animal books for some facts.
I Really liked this passion time project and I am glad I did it. I think my video was good but It could have been longer. I also wish that I could have made a website. It would have been cool. I wish that could give some access to my
My experience when learning how mobile phones have changed over time was a great learning experience. I thought it was good because I learned a lot from researching and actually holding an old phone. I think I got a lot of my facts from actually experiencing how a mobile phone works and holding some modern and ancient phones. All in all this project was a great learning experience!
Can I Compare and Contrast the Defense Mechanisms of Various Animal Species and Find What Some Animals have in Common? by Regan
Reflection: I hope that my website will teach people about my topic and that they can use the information to possibly create something of their own. I used just a few websites to get all of the information I needed, which was a little bit difficult at times, but I think once I got most of the basic information, I started to get the hang of it. I had some trouble with uploading the video to YouTube on time, so I had to redo the video three times to actually get it to YouTube. I took most of my time creating the website, and I researched the information as I created the website, which got me all of the information I needed while taking less time overall to thoroughly complete the project.
I really liked this topic because I am very very passionate about water things in general. I made sure I got to study Knee boards because I just got one at Christmas. I loved making the website because because I liked getting videos and pictures because I am very interested in these type of things.
Andrew reflection: What was most fun was finding the facts. It was fun because there was a lot cool pictures ( Also yummy ones I wanted eat) and facts. The most difficult thing would be the slide show, because we had to get a lot of slides with just five facts on each slide. The easiest thing would be writing the facts. I think this because we have 12 slides. Witch is pretty good if I say so my self. So in the end Mason and I learned a lot. Some were interesting and some were funny, but finding out how people celebrate Christmas around the world was really fun.
Mason reflection: I think it's cool that people have diferent Chrismas traditons or stories around the world. also the traditions are often simaler to ours. I wonder how the different traditions started. If everyone in the world were to celabrate Chrismas or any other holiday like otheres around the world I bet that we would discover that our tradicions are simmaler. I hope you liked our project.
