Lesson 6: Tracking Shadows During a Day ( 2 day Activity )

1. What patterns did you notice about the shadow length throughout the day?
2. What caused these patterns?
3. When you analyzed your shadow graphs, when did the longest shadows occur? Why?

Reflection/Synthesis Answers:

1. .  I noticed that the shadow started out really long and then got shorter while the sun got higher and then got longer as the sun went down!
2. . The cause of these patterns was because of the sun and how it "moved" during the day.
3. .  The longest shadows occured when the sun was very low and that made a long shadow  because the sun was so low that it made a long shadow because of how far down in was!
4. . The shortest shadow occured in the middle of th day because the sun was almost above the battery, casting the shadow so it was very small.
5. . The most challenging part of this was tracing the shadow because you needed to be in the right angle and your shadow cover the battery shadow.
6. . I learned all about how shadows work and how they move throughout the day!
