1. Explaining The Challenge

    This challenge is about inventing something to help the environment! There is a 7 step Google Doc that we had to follow so had success while we were inventing a environmental helper! We got to Invent something to help the environment and enter it into a contest and have a chance to win a prize! 

2. Explain The Problem I chose to Fix
    I chose to battle the problem  of pollution because I knew that pollution was a environmental problem and could be a little bit fixed if I did something on that so I chose to try and fix a little more

3. Explain The Solution

​      My solution for this problem was trying to conserve energy so I made a fan that stores energy from the sun instead of using batteries. It is called solar power and my fan preserves energy instead of using battery power by using sun rays and storing them until they get used for power! 

Reflection/Synthesis Questions:

1. How are shadows made outside in the daytime? Provide some evidence to support your answer.
2. Can shadows be made inside the classroom? If so, how?
3. Do outside shadows change during the day? If so, how? Refer to the pole or stick the class observed outside if needed.
4. Think about the time between observations of the pole’s shadow. What happened?
5. What does this (the answer to #4) tell you about the sun’s position in the sky?
6. Insert one or two photos (from mine above) into your blog post to help you explain how the sun's position appears to follow an arc throughout the day.

1. They are made in the daytime by our bodies and the sun hitting them in the right angle! When the sun is low you get a really long shadow because of how its hitting you and its really short when its the middle of the day its really short because the sun is above you. 
2. Shadows can be made in the classroom by somebody who shines a light on an object, which is alike to the sun shining on something. 
3. Shadows do change during the day. When the sun "moves" across the sky its moving and if its casting the shadow while moving then the shadow itself is moving!
4. The shadow got shorter and longer throughout the day!

 Hypothosis: What effect will the hight of the metor have on the craters form? 

 Answer: The crator will be deeper the higher the marble or object is. 

Notes from mini lesson​

• We have known the erath is round for thousands of years!
• Ships do appear to sink as they cross over the horizion line because of the curved surface.
• The pull of gravity is about equal from any point on the earths surface!
• We can travel to space and take photos and videos of the Earth directly observing its true shape, a sphere!
