Where do you think the items came from originally?
Do you think the items look the same today as they did a month ago?
What happened to the matter in each item over the past month?
Do you think the items will be the same forever? Why or why not?
What do all of the items in the bag have in common?
Do you notice any relationships between the items in the bags? They all...
What evidence do you have that the items were all once part of a living thing?
Another name for "nature's waste" is "organic remains." These are all organisms that are no longer living, or parts of organisms that are discarded, excreted, or no longer needed. What other examples of organic remains can you think of?
What would happen to each item from your bag if it were left outside? What might it look like in 6 months? What would cause it to change?
What would eventually happen to the waste MATTER in each type of organic remain?
Why isn't the earth just piled up with all the matter from nature's waste?
Why could all of the items in the mystery bags be classified as nature's waste?
Do you think that all living things generate waste? What makes you think that?

Answers:

Trees and other Plants. There are leaves, pinecones, and pine needles. The flowers and grass come from plants
. No, The small flower is a little discolored and fragile and the grass is around its dying stage. Our leave has a little sign of deadness.
It most likely is decaying and dying because it can't provide photosynthesis and thats its food and water so it would die.
They will not be the same. At one point it will start to die and not get the nutrients it needs from photosynthesis.
They all got their energy from the sun. They also all produced photosynthesis.
Every item in the box came from nature and from the sun.

Dead bugs are organisms. So are dead leaves because they came from a tree.
In my mind it would start to die. It might lose its color and start to wilt.
I didn't know the answer but I think that it would start to decompose and the fungi and bacteria help it!
Some waste evaporates. Other waste might grow into a new plant.
They could be classified as waste because it was all not living anymore.

Some things don't even turn into waste. They evaporate. (I don't know another answer)

Plants as Producers!

Reflection/Synthesis:
Answer the following questions in your blog post. Remember to have at least one follow-up sentence for each question, when possible.

Plants need energy and matter to grow. Where do plants get their ENERGY?
Where do plants get their MATTER?
Where do plants get their FOOD (be careful - this is a trick question)?
Why are plants called Producers?
What would happen if plants didn't have a way to get energy?
What would happen to animals if there were no plants to eat?
What are some of the LIVING components of a plant "system"? (A plant "system" is everything that a plant needs to survive and everything it produces.)
What are some of the NON-LIVING components of a plant "system"?
In what ways do the components of the system interact?
What matter is transported in and out of the plant system?

Answers:

Plants get their energy from the sun. It keeps them warm and if they get too hot they will wilt.
Plants get their matter from Carbon. Carbon comes from carbon dioxide, which the plants breath in!
They get their matter from the soil that they are planted in because it gives them nutrients, it gets its water from the rain or water. It gets its food from photosynthesis, which means the plant makes its own food. It gets it from carbon dioxide, soil, the sun, and water.
. They are called producers because the produce food for other animals and then those animals become food for more animals and so on, so they produced that to happen.
The food chain would be WAY down for one part because they wont be producing food for other animals to eat.
The animals would die because plants were their food source and other animals would die because the animals who ate the plants aren't there for them to eat ect.
I didn't know the answer but I think that Biotic factors is one of the LIVING components of a plant.
Some of the non-living components are soil and carbon-dioxide.
One way that they interact is that the plant takes the nutrients out of soil.
I don't know the answer but I think It is Oxygen.

Can a Food Web be considered a "system"? Why or why not?
What happens if a plant or animal all of a sudden disappears from the food web?
Using this food chain, "sunlight to apple to worm to bird to cat," How do organisms in this food chain get the matter they need for body repair and growth?
Using the same food chain in #4, How do organisms in that food chain get the energy they need for body warmth and motion?
What do you think happens to the matter that is NOT used by the organisms in a food chain or food web? Is it wasted or does something else happen?

Answers

The phyloplankton becomes eaten by the zooplankton, which is eaten by the small fish, eaten by the salmon, Eaten by the Orca!
It can because it is a intersection of all the food chains.
Then, it would set off a chain reaction. One animal won't get the food they need which just disappeared, so the animal that needs to eat the animal who cant get food will die too.

One thing about being in space it that most of the time, there will be zero gravity. Gravity is what pulls us to the center of the Earth. Space has gravity, it is just very weak as you get further away. As you get further away from Earth, you get closer to another celestial body, such as Mars. Even though mars has low gravity, it still has gravity. After earths gravity is too weak we start to get pulled in by Mars's gravity, even though there is very low gravity.
