Modeling Earth's Shape

Notes from my reasearch 

• Aristotle has made a lot of research on the            planet and then he started to notice during the lunar eclipse that the shadow on the moons surface is rounded, and this is earths shadow and its a good clue that the earth is round!
  
• If you stick a medium sized stick in the mud or somthing sticky it will make a shadow the shadow will move as the time in the day passes, If the world had been flat ( as some might think ) then two sticks in different locations would produce the same shawdow but they won't because the earth is rounf and not flat!
  
• Planes or jets can travel in a pretty straight line without flling of the edge of the earth because if its a sphere there are no edges, and they can circle the earth without stopping!
  
• If you are at a high spot, in a talll building or in a plane, you can look at the horizion and see the curve of the earth!

Notes from mini lesson​

• We have known the erath is round for thousands of years!
• Ships do appear to sink as they cross over the horizion line because of the curved surface.
• The pull of gravity is about equal from any point on the earths surface!
• We can travel to space and take photos and videos of the Earth directly observing its true shape, a sphere!

3. Even though your drawings are different than the actual Earth, in what ways do they accurately represent Earth?
4. How does the point of view of a drawing affect the way objects look?

2. . It compares so differntly because our drawings are about 5 inches and the real earth is about 500000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 ect. inches.
3. . They represent earth by its shape and mostly what it kinda looks like. Though it can not by the size becasue its too big in real life!
4. .It effects it becasue some points of the drawing can be groun of one side of the earth while others could be a whole differnt side becasue of where you are looking at it from!
