Delivering What Muscles Need

The one thing I did today was do the heart activity. I really liked this activity because I had never got to here my heart beet before only feel my heart beating. One thing that was fun for me was using the stethoscope. It was fun because I never used it before. One thing that was tough for me was trying to hear the heart beat in the beginning. I think it was tough because I did not know how to use it.
  1. Which activities increased your heart rate the most?
  2. Which activities increased your heart rate the least?
  3. Was the order in which you ranked the activities accurate? (It's good to be wrong!) Explain.
  4. What changes did you notice about your heart rate as you became more active?
  5. Why do you think your heart rate changed when you were more active? What inference can you make? (Use pages 65–66 of your reference book to help you answer this question.)
1. The couple activity's that increased my heart rate were walking and running. I think they increased my heart the most because they involved the most exercise.
2. The two activity's increased the least was the relaxing and standing because they involved the two least exercise.
3. I think the order I ranked my activity's was inaccurate because because I think skipping should go last not running. I think this because I believe that skipping involves more motion and strength.
4.
One change I noticed about my heart rate is that my heart rate was going up after every activity. I think my heart was going up because my workouts got more intense after each and every one.
5. I think my heart rate changed when I was more active because my heart needed to pump blood more often into my muscles.

  1. Was it difficult to use the same technique throughout the whole experiment?
  2. How did your hands and fingers feel BEFORE, DURING, and AFTER the experiment?
  3. Describe how your data changed over time.
  4. What errors or inconsistencies might have affected your results?
  5. Why did your hand strength change over the course of this experiment?
  6. How do you think your muscle cells get oxygen, nutrients, and water to make the energy they need to function?
  7. What do you think you could have done to prevent your muscles from tiring?
  8. What should you do if you experience muscle fatigue in the future?

1. I thought it was difficult. I thought it was difficult because there was not a lot of techniques to try in fact there was only one.
2. In the begging they felt sore but not to sore. During it My fingers felt very sore. After it they felt good and not sore.
3. One way it changed is that in the begging my score went down, in the middle it started to go up, and at the end it went down then up.
4. One error I did during the experiment is I dropped the clothespin. I think I did this because my hands were getting tired in the middle.
5. I think my hand strength changed over time because I was getting used to the experiment and I was doing the things for my hand.
6. I think they get all the oxygen, nutrients, ect by the blood movement. That is why we did the hand exercises.
7. One thing I could have done to prevent the tiring is doing the hand motions better and not hitting the table so many time from shaking my hand.
8. If I experience fatigue in the future I will do the hand motions Mr.Solarz taught us and not hit the table so many times.

   A Day Gone Bad

I was out side playing with my friends. The sky was blue the air was warm everything felt like it was going to be a great summer day. I felt like the happiest kid on the earth everything was going my way today. I was with Danny my neighbor Emily my sister and her friend Bernie also another neighbor. It was just us four playing in the front yard with no one telling us what to do or how we should do. Then we were playing tag in the yard or maybe not tag but something like tackling tag. It is where the person who is it has to tackle another person so he is not it anymore. I was it at the beginning so I was chasing Emily and tackled her right to the ground. SMASH!!!! Emily hit the ground so hard she screamed and then my mom came running out and yelled “ WHAT DID YOU DO NICK’’ I didn’t know what to do so I just said “ Um,Um well we made a game up where we tackle each other and well yay.” Then I got sent to my room because I couldn’t tackle people. I just got so mad and then I said well not said but yelled

“I WISH THERE WAS NO SUCH THING AS RULES,” I shouted so loud I think I might have broken a glass. So then I went right to bed.

I woke up yawning and glared at my sister standing over me and then shoved her out of my way. Then she said

“somebody is feisty today.” I glared even harder and she finally left. I didn’t want to go down stairs and see my mom I just wanted to sneak past her and get outside to play. I was starving so I had to go see my mom and get breakfast. I was hoping mom would just forget about it and move on with her life but I bet she didn’t. So anyways I went downstairs to get some pancakes and guess what my brother was downstairs to. The look on his face almost made me run away. Then I got my pancakes and sat down to eat. I saw a smile on my brothers face so big it almost made me crack up but I just ate as usually as I did before. When I looked over at my brother he didn’t even touch his pancakes, and then from that point on I knew that something was up. Then BOOM I felt a warm pancake with warm chocolate chips and syrup splat on my face and then another and another. I heard a yell “FOOD FIGHT,” my brother was chucking the pancakes over and over then I heard my mom yelling “ Go Mathew Go,” and at the end I yelled

“I HATE THIS WORLD I WANT TO MOVE AWAY!!!!” So I just stomped up the stairs growling at my mom and my brother, but then I thought why would my mom my own mother want to cheer Mathew on it was just wierd of her to do that.

I kept on stomping until I reached the bathroom I thought a warm shower would help calm me down from the pancake incident. I stepped in with the warm water sprinkling on my skin. It calmed me down right away I put the face wash on right away and that soothed my skin so much I felt like I was in a spa. I was about to put the shampoo on but I decided to put the body wash on instead I put the body wash on and I felt like I was in Heaven I wanted to stay in the shower the rest of the day as the hot water was beating against my skin. I put the smooth shampoo on my hair I felt great and like I was the King of the world. The shampoo was starting to dry up for some weird reason. That second I that that happened I knew something was up. I screamed “Emily What Did You Do!!” I wanted to get out of the shower and punch her a billion times. I yelled

“I Hate This World I Want To Move Away!!” The worst part was my hands were stuck to my head with stay stuck glue. I turned up the hot water with my elbow all the way up. The water was no longer relaxing it was scolding. I could feel the glue slowly dripping off then 30 minutes later the glue was finally all off. Now I just have to figure out a way to hide the bright redness of my face but no luck. I just had to go out in shame with a cherry red tomato face, but before I did that I was going to beat my sister up so hard she was going to cry. So I yelled “Where are you. I think you want a piece of my mind!” Then I forgot she went to a friends house so the beating would have to wait.

I guess I just was going to go outside and wait for Emily to show her face, then about 1 hour later she finally came over to me and I just pounded her fist to face. I felt so good after that, but I knew I was going to get in trouble. After I did that her face was red, and even tooth was missing. Then Emily started to tear up really fast. My mom came out and it looked like she didn’t even care that Emily was crying and she didn’t care. I was relieved but also wondering why my mom didn’t care that Emily was crying. I was scared because it is like my mom didn’t even care about us not at all.

I wanted to go play some b-ball (basketball) but I remembered that I threw my shorts in the wash after my game last night. So I ran downstairs and tried to find them, but they weren't down they. I ran upstairs to find my mom and asked her “do you know where my shorts are?” She said back

“I don’t know go find them yourself.” That made me remember how I said before my mom seems like she doesn’t care. So anyways I went to go look for them myself and no luck. I looked in my dror one more time and saw something bright like a bright pink color. I yanked the thing out and when I saw the Michigan sign I knew that very second it was my Michigan shorts. I was thinking how did this happen I was so confused at this sight. Then i remembered in the morning my mom was doing landree. She said with blues, but then I knew she had probably done purples. pinks, and reds with my shorts. I stomped upstairs and yelled “THIS IS WHAT I GET AFTER ALL I HAVE GONE THREW TODAY!!!!”

She yelled back “ WELL I JUST WANTED TO SEE WHAT YOUR SHORTS WOULD LOOK LIKE IN PINK” I yelled again

“ I HATE THIS WORLD I WANT TO MOVE”

I wanted to go brush my teeth because my teeth were really nasty after what happened today, but first I had to go put on some pants instead of shorts. After that was done I needed to go right now and brush and it was already noon. So I went to go put the toothpaste on the toothbrush. For some reason the toothbrush smelled weird and I just got it yesterday. I thought it was just my imagination going coocoo. So I just put the toothpaste on and started to brush the thing that was really weird was that the toothpaste tasted weird so I started to spit the toothpaste out. Then the second I started to spit the toothpaste out my sister came up and yelled from the bottom of the stairs “Hey Nick you might want to clean your toothbrush!!”

I yelled back “Why”

She yelled again “because I used it to scrape dog poop off my shoe!” I wanted to beat her up so much she would start bleeding, and then I yelled again

“I hate this world I want to move away!!”

I really hated this world so much I really did want to move away. After all the tragedies that happened today I thought playing some legos would cheer me up. So I went to go play my legos. When I first saw them I just thought I misplaced my legos, but when I got a closer look at them I realised they were broken like shattered glass on the floor. I assumed it was my brothers fault so I went to his bed across from me and was about to smash his legos as he did to me, but his legos were broken to so I started to wonder who would do such a thing then all my options lead up to my sister. If it was my sister she would be on a roll today not this happened but it was a long time since she went this far. I was going to kill her room trash it do anything I could to get her back for what she did to me. When I went in her room i saw it was already trashed. So this led to my two last options mom or dad I asked my dad but he said “No, but I wish I thought of that earlier.” So I had to go to my last option my mom and when I asked her she said

“yes and it was fun!” I was so mad I just wanted to punch everyone in the face. I just did not understand why this day was so chaotic.

I woke up and realized this was just a dream and glad it was. Just to make sure it was I checked my legos, my brothers legos, and Emily’s room. Everything was perfect before the day I dreamt about. After having that dream I realized how important rules and laws are. I noticed that the rules and laws keep this country running smoothly. Instead of everything being chaotic without rules and laws.
