Reflection

Who was your famous person and why were they famous?
Why is it important for children to study specific people's lives from a time period in history?
What was the hardest part about completing your Revolutionary War Hero Project? What made it hard?
How did it make you feel to complete your Revolutionary War Hero Project without much help from adults? Why?

1. My famous person was Thomas Paine. He was famous for inspiring Colonists and raising the spirits of soldiers. He wrote Common Sense which inspired Colonists to join the Patriots side and American Crisis which raised the soldiers spirits wen it seemed there was no hope.
2.That is important because you know the person and the time period around. You know what they thought or wanted or did. You see how the world came to be.
3. Probably the gluing on in a way. It was very nerve racking. I had to get it done in like 2 days of 1 hour periods. I had to finish everything that was not done so I could actually glue the things down.
4.FInishing made me pretty exited and relieved that I got done in the deadline time. I put the hard work into it and all of a sudden it was all worth it. A nice poster about Thomas Paine.

Describing A Character

How hard was it to describe your creature?
What did you do well?
What do you wish you did better so your partner could have drawn it better?
How well did you do in drawing your partner's creature?
What do you wish they did better to have helped you draw the creature better?

1. It was a little easy. It seemed as if you looked hard enough and really just described it it was easy.
2.I think I showed the big parts and then also did the small parts. I put enough detail and some story in it.
3.I could of made it really descriptive and still not to much. Other wise I think it was pretty good.
4. I did pretty different in looks but they had different types of the same features. I didn't get the lips or the eyes big enough. Mostly some sizing. I didn't do a line pattern down the creatures back.
5. They really could have explained the size more or the stripes. The stripes he said were on the tail which they were but they were also across the whole back. He could of explained the absolute size of the lips and eyes.

Revolutionary War Tug-of-Rope

Paragraph on Tug-of-War.

When we did this red represented Great Britain and blue represented the Americans and white represented France and Spain. That's why white rooted for the Americans and helped them because the Spanish and French had always despised Great Britain. The tug-of-war was a metaphor because it showed Great Britain and the Colonists and France and Spain being even most of the war. In the beginning Great Britain was winning but once the Colonists got backup the tug-of-war was an even fight in a way. In the beginning Great Britain had a strong team and it evened out some. The blue had less because it was the metaphor of the blue being the Colonists and not having has many trained troops until later on. The white was France and Spain helping later on in because in the real life of it they would need to travel a ocean so they needed to count like in the metaphor. The Colonists would get a prize and the British would get a prize because they both got America and its resources. The colonists got the rights to but the slaves they kept being slaves and didn't get much out of it. The British had troops come in late because it was like in real life, it took a long time to get across the ocean and get to the battlefield. Again with the red team the British had to go all the way across the Ocean so in the tug-of-war the Colonists just had to defend and the British had to pull and be all offense.

Who did you think would win the game at first (RED or BLUE)? Why?
How did you feel as the rules changed? Did you get discouraged or more confident? Why?
What were the reasons why the BLUE team won?

1.I was the British team or the red.
2.I felt motivated to win and win the prize. Also it felt like we would win.
3.It thought RED would win because we had "stronger" and taller kids.
4.I felt more worried because they added advantages for them. They added the belt and the time advantage.
5.All they had to do is keep us away from the belt. So they had to just defend like in the actual war.
