Answers:

1. I am bringing a Kindle because I can read any books I want! Books weigh a lot so, bringing a Kindle will save room. Also I love to read. And another item is a scrapbook of my family and friends back home. This will keep me from getting to homesick. Also it will remind me to text or FaceTime them or some other weird 2150 thing.
2. I plan to use these things because I am a doctor. Their is another doctor so she can bring more technical mars things but I just brought the basics. I don't really need to bring too much medicine because their already is a medicine maker (who I assume is an expert at medicine.) All of the things I brought will help me if someone gets hurt or is sick. It is important to help someone if they are sick on mars, because we don't want disease spreading.
