What surprised me about the statistics of our world was how fast our population is growing and how many people 1 person represents. Also what surprised me was that more than 1.2 billion people are Indian, and that 1 person in the global village represents 70 million!
Some of the things that upset me was that so many people didn't have power or clean water, another thing that upset me was that the worlds population was growing so much! Another thing that upset me was that not many people go to school, and less that 16.6% of the world's population can go to school but don't choose to. I wish that more people would be able to go to school and have power and clean water.
The fact that about 30% of the world's population doesn't have sufficient water or food and are severely malnourished. Also the fact that about 10% of the people in the world make less than $2 each day!
The thing I can do to help is donate to the poor and maybe grow up and be an electrician.

What was hard about the game? Explain in detail!
Was the game a valuable use of class time? If so, why? If not, why not?
Regardless of your answer to #2 above, if you were marketing this game to teachers, what would you claim this game is good for in the classroom? What skills do students learn from this game?

What was hard about the game was that you had to describe the parts of the ship that you had to operate.
I think that this was a valuable use of our class time because it built our 21st century skills and our collaboration.
I would recommend the game to a teacher saying that it built collaboration among the classroom students and I would say that they would learn teamwork from this.

Reflections from Dubai

My teacher, Mr. Solarz, was fortunate enough to travel to Dubai last week for an education conference and to meet former Top 50 Global Teacher Prize candidates for the Varkey GEMS Global Teacher Prize. He shared his unbelievable experience with us, and here are some things that I learned from our discussion:

In Mr. Solarz' discussion I learned that you shouldn't make assumptions because in the future you might offend someone or make them sad.
In Mr. Solarz' discussion I learned that people in the world are more similar than different.
Dubai is planing to make a tower that is much bigger than the burj kalifa.
I learned about GEMS schools and that they were a private school that provided education through tenological means.
They use the most expensive type of water purification. This process boils the water until it evaporates then the water trickles into a pot below.

What is it that you like about poetry? If you don't know, look through the poems that are being tweeted today to find inspiration!

I chose this poem because it was humorous, no, there is no message in this poem I want others to learn. It is playing on words when at the third stanza(a pun). This poem was special because it showed a very funny pun and I like it.
I like how they have a certain kind of rhythm in them.

I am Amir Raja, a doctor from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It would be very important to have a doctor along on the first manned mission to Mars because you would need someone to help you when you have an injury or if we encounter any foreign diseases. I am excited for this trip because it would be exciting to start a foothold for humanity, on mars.
