  • Day and night. The Earth is a sphere, or ball, which spins round and round as it travels around the sun. ... The side facing away is cooler and darker, and experiences night. Because the Earth is constantly spinning, the line between day and night is always moving around the planet.
  • The Earth experiences days and nights as a result of the planet spinning on its axis. As the planet spins, the part that is facing the sun experiences day, while it is night for the part facing away from the sun​.​

Question one: What effect does the hight of the metierorid have on the craters that form? I think that the hight affects the crater because it went deeper when it was higher.
  1. Which of the following best describes Earth’s shape?
    A. disk
    B. circle
    C. sphere
    D. plane
  2. Earth’s gravity pulls an object toward its ____________________.
  3. Which model do you find most useful to explain gravity and its effects? Why?
    - Tennis ball and rubber band?
    - Styrofoam ball and toothpicks?
    - Circle on paper with arrows?
  4. Why are models helpful at explaining complex scientific concepts like gravity?
  5. Do you think the moon is affected by Earth’s gravity? If so, why doesn’t it fall “down” toward the Earth?
  6. Why doesn’t a plane or bird fall from the sky?
  7. Does gravity ever stop working? Do any forces ever cancel out gravity or reverse it? Explain.
  8. Why is this lesson on gravity a good time to teach about craters?

  2. An object pulls another object toward the center of itself.
  3. I think that a tennis ball with a rubber band is most useful for describing gravity
  4.  Models are useful because they give a visual description.
  5.  The moon is affected by Earth because it is pulled by it's gravitational pull. It doesn't slam into Earth because the moon emits a gravitational pull of it's own .
  6. . The plane doesn't fall to the ground because the plane has something called lift. Lift is the push that something uses to push themselves into the air.
  7. . No, gravity does not ever stop working, but stuff can cancel out gravity. One way is to have a revolving thing, and it's revolution generates a gravity of it's own and cancels out gravity.
  8. . This lesson is a good time to teach about craters because we learn that craters form when something hits it. To hit the earth something has to get pulled by gravity and enter it's atmosphere to hit the earth.

1. The scale of the drawing means how big or small your model/drawing is(the size).
2. They are different from each other beacuse Earth is life sized.
3. My drawing represents Earth because both have the crust, mantle, outer core, inner core.
4. The point of view matters beacuse if you were far away then you would see Earth smaller. If you drew your drawing's stetting in space you would see you drawing farther away. Now if you drew your drawing's setting on Earth you would see it closer.

    I am Amir Raja, a doctor from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It would be very important to have a doctor along on the first manned mission to Mars because you would need someone to help you when you have an injury or if we encounter any foreign diseases.
