My teacher, Mr. Solarz, was fortunate enough to travel to Dubai last week for an education conference and to meet former Top 50 Global Teacher Prize candidates for the Varkey GEMS Global Teacher Prize. He shared his unbelievable experience with us, and here are some things that I learned from our discussion:
- In Mr. Solarz' discussion I learned that you shouldn't make assumptions because in the future you might offend someone or make them sad.
- In Mr. Solarz' discussion I learned that people in the world are more similar than different.
- Dubai is planing to make a tower that is much bigger than the burj kalifa.
- I learned about GEMS schools and that they were a private school that provided education through tenological means.
- They use the most expensive type of water purification. This process boils the water until it evaporates then the water trickles into a pot below.
