Who did you think would win the game at first (RED or BLUE)? Why?
How did you feel as the rules changed? Did you get discouraged or more confident? Why?
What were the reasons why the BLUE team won?
Historically speaking, what happened once America won the Revolutionary War? What changed in America?
What might be different today if America had lost the war?
1. I was a member of the white team which represented France and Spain. 2. I thought we would crush the red team because they had to get all the way to the mat. 3.I thought that the blue team would win because in 20 seconds all the blue team had to do was not let the red team get to the mat. 4. I felt more and more confident that we would win because every time Mr.Solarz said things like there team had to start far away from the rope and the blue team would get a prize and that made them motivated. 5. I think the blue team won because the white team joined and then the blue team had more people. I also think the blue team won because the red team had to get all the way to the mat and they were motivated. 6. Once America won the revolutionary war America was no longer under Britains control and were free. Also a little later in the treaty of Paris, England said that they would start to notice the USA as a real country. 7. If Britain had won the war I think a lot of stuff would be different. One way is we would never have the 4th of July. I think there could be a lot of unfair taxes. We would never of had a president. We would also all have British accents.
What patterns did you notice about the shadow length throughout the day?
What caused these patterns?
When you analyzed your shadow graphs, when did the longest shadows occur? Why?
When you analyzed your shadow graphs, when did the shortest shadows occur? Why?
What was the most challenging part of this lesson?
What do you feel you learned from completing this lesson?
1. Some of the patterns that I noticed are all of the shadows are the same shape and it went long, short, long so the shadow was never the same size. 2. The patterns were caused by the Earth's rotation because when the Earth spins the sun appears in different places in the sky so the battery blocked the sun in different places so all the shadows aren't in the same place also when the Earth spins the sun appears lower in the sky so the battery blocks more sunlight so the shadow is longer. 3. The longer shadows appeared when the sun was lower in the sky because the battery blocked more of the sun. So then the shadow would be longer. It was longest int the morning shorter at noon and then a little longer in the afternoon but still not as long as the morning shadow. 4.The shorter shadows accord when the sun was higher because then the battery would block less of the sun. So the shadow would be shorter it was the shortest at noon. 5. I thought it was challenging to draw the shadow because when I was writing my hand was in the way and the shadow of my hand was over the shadow of the battery so I couldn't see the shadow anymore and it was hard to draw. 6. I think that I learned that shadows before noon is longer than shadows after noon because my shadow before noon at 9:30 AM was longer than my shadow after noon which was at 2:30 PM and they are both 2 and a half hours away from noon.
