What I Think I Know About Mars

What do I already know about Mars?

• It was found by astonomers.
• It was possible that it had life on it.
• It has a 24 hour day
• The planet has the largest volcano, but it is not active.
• It is made out of dust and rock.
• The coldest it gets it -200 degrees.
• It is the fourth planet that is closest to the sun.

3. What supplies and equipment will the astronauts need to survive there?
4. What do you think are the risks of traveling to such a distant planet?
5. What would you want to bring with you?

1. They sent robots to get some evidence on Mars. They are growing one plant in different lights so the plant is totally edible. They had volunteers that acted like they were on space to test what the issues are going to be. People tested the space suit on people to see what it would be like. And they wanted to determine how flexible a persons joints are to see how to make the space suit flexible. They need to make the atmosphere more thick, because on Mars has such a thin atmosphere.
2. It will take about 2 and a half years. The crew would have to wait 10 more days when they land.
3. They used a space craft to get into space. And they had an extra rocket that made its own gasoline so the astronauts could come back to Earth. The astronauts need space suits to get 100 percent oxygen.
4. The water freezes and the volcanoes are as big as the MilkyWay. Having no gravity means that you are weightless and you bounce everywhere. If you don't exercise while you are on a planet it will be hard for you to come back. There is friction between the Mars atmosphere and the spaces crafts.
5. I would want to bring exercise equipment that would help me stay fit. Also I would want to bring reusable and edible food.
