I was over at my friend Reagan’s house and we were playing on her 3DS. She has a game called tomodachi life that we like to play together. We were playing and two of the characters got in a huge fight. They had been throwing stuff at each other. When we went to check on them their bodies had erupted in flames. One of them looked so ridiculous They were wearing a swimsuit and viciously attacking the punching bag in front of them. Reagan and I laughed hysterically it was quite the sight if you could only imagine a guy in a purple swimsuit with fire coming out of his head beating a punching bag then that is half of how funny Reagan and I thought it was. I was literally rolling on the ground laughing it was so funny. The character was so mad that when you tried to make him apologize he would go “ I didn’t start this fight I won't end it.” as even more flames came out of him.
Reflection:
This activity was very fun and I think that it represented the Revolutionary war very well. The white team was France and blue was America while red was England. The blue team got a reward if they won which symbolized freedom. The blue team also had a stronger motivation than red just like America wanted to win more than England because they got freedom. Also like in real life blue didn't have to win just make sure that red didn't win. Also the white team started just cheering for blue like France was cheering for America and white joined tug of war just like France joined America in the end.
Dear family , I believe that women should be able to fight alongside men. Since I am tall I was able to disguise myself as a man. It wasn’t easy, the men teased me about not growing facial hair. I didn’t want anyone to find out my identity. This ended up causing many problems. For example during my first battle I was shot in the leg. I didn’t want anyone to find out I was a lady so I tended my own wound. The result being that it never healed properly. I was able to get the first musket ball out but the second was in too deep. I still have the musket ball in my leg and it is very important to me because it reminds me of how strong I was. I was later hospitalized where they found out I was a woman yet the doctor didn’t betray me. He let me live with him, his wife, and daughter. I was asked to deliver a letter to general John Paterson I thought my secret was out. I was later honorably discharged from the army. Now that my battle days are over I have come home and married farmer Benjamin Gannet and had five children. You can come and visit me soon and I can show you my army uniform which is very important to me because of the war memories it brings back. I could also show you my journal where I wrote all my secrets. I am looking forward to seeing you. Sincerely, Deborah Sampson Gannet Reflection:
Deborah Sampson wanted the colonists to be free from England so she enlisted in the army as a man. She got shot in the leg and didn't want to go to a doctor because they would find out she was a lady. Since her leg never healed properly she wasn't able to walk normally. She was hospitalized later for a head wound and the doctor found her true identity. She was honorably discharged from the army. |
