Delivering What Muscles Need

  1. Which activities increased your heart rate the most?
  2. Which activities increased your heart rate the least?
  3. Was the order in which you ranked the activities accurate? (It's good to be wrong!) Explain.
  4. What changes did you notice about your heart rate as you became more active?
  5. Why do you think your heart rate changed when you were more active? What inference can you make? (Use pages 65–66 of your reference book to help you answer this question.)
REFLECTION: What was tough for me in this blog and experiment was trying to find the numbers when we had to use the timer and I also thought it was hard because I needed to stop at a certain time and made me sometimes lose track. What was easy for me was when we were creating the chart, what was also easy for me was when we had to do the activity. What I learned was when we go faster our heart rate can go down way faster then when we are relaxing.
1. The last two, because they are skipping, and running.
2. The first two, because they were lying down and standing.
3. Yes because when i was doing the experiment i felt like it needed t be this way to explained it better.
4. I noticed that it went up and the heart rate got faster.
5. It changed by getting faster as you can see on the chart above.

1. Yes because our fingers were hurting the whole time we were doing the experiment.
2. Before they were fine, during i felt a lot of pain, after I felt more pain then before.
3. My data changed by going up and down and up and down.
4. I thing what affected my results were i wasnt pinching in the right place on the close pin.
5. It changed because we were finding different ways to pinch and it became easier to pinch. Also because the close pin was stiff.
6. I think they get the energy by all the movement they do while we are pinching the pin. Also Because of the breaks we got to shake our hand/hands.
7. Maybe I could of not pinched as hard, but that would make me get lower scores.
8. I should do what I did today because that helped me when I was doing the experiment. Also The shaking we did with our hands.

  1. How many bones did your model need?  How many muscles did it need?
  2. How were your pretend muscles similar and different to real muscles?
  3. What would happen if the ligaments of the models were overstretched or torn? How would it affect the way the models could operate?
  4. Explain what ligaments, tendons, and cartilage are.
  5. What made this activity fun?
  6. What made this activity challenging?
1. Our model needed five bones to keep it together, our model also had two muscles to pull the ulna and radius.
2. Our pretend muscles were similar because they moved the same way. And they were different because they didn't have the same actual movement.
3. If the ligaments torn it would effect it by it wouldn't work/move. It would affect it by not moving.
4. A ligament is something that connects bone to bone.  And a tendon connect muscle to bone. And cartilage is something that keeps bone from rubbing against another bone.
5. The building made this activity fun because we got to experiment.
6. What made this activity challenging was trying to figure out how to try to get it to work.
