1. I think the Aluminum will be first to slid because it closest to medal and medal is a conductor of heat for the butter to slid. 2. I think the copper will be the second because its close to medal. 3. I think the plastic will be third because the plastic is very slippery. 4. I think the brass will be second to last because its not the best but its close to medal. 5. I think the bamboo will be last because its not slippery and its not the best.
How did heat energy transfer to the butter in this experiment?
What connections can you make between this experiment and yesterday's experiment? "Both today's experiment and yesterday's experiment... The main differences were..."
How did your results compare to your predictions?
Which of the tested materials were the two best conductors? What is your evidence?
Which of the tested materials were the two worst conductors? What is your evidence?
Do you think water is a good or poor conductor? Why? Can you think of any evidence to support your answer?
Why do you think it matters which material is a good or bad conductor? How do we use conductors in our life?
1. The heat transferd to the butter by the stick and what the stick was. 2. 3.My perditions were almost perfectly accurate because I only got 2 wrong and they compared really well. 4.The two best conductores were copper and aluminum My evidence was the melting of the butter. 5.The bamboo and the plastic My evidence was the melting of the butter. 6.Yes and no because if its heated its good if its not then no i have evidence 7. Yes it does matter which material to use like for a science project or when your electricity is out like you can't use wood to start a car.We use conductors for starting a car or fixing lights.
Which object was most difficult to figure out? Why was it so hard to figure out the energy transfers in this object?
Which three stations do you feel very confident that you figured out correctly? Describe one and explain what made it so obvious.
Was it always possible to know for sure what kinds of energy transfers occurred
1. My favorite station was the dominoes because we got to build and build till we succeeded and we did so that was fun when they all fell. 2. I think the hardest was the drinking bird. I think that was the hardest because we could not find out what form of energy it was from the back and fourth it did but it was not motion. 3. The three that were obvious was the dominoes, the magic bracelet, and the pull back toy car. The dominoes were obvious because all they did were fall back and that was motion. 4. No because some were really hard and some were not that hard wich made it hard for me to decide.
What forms of energy are easiest to notice? Which ones are hardest to notice?
Do some items possess more than one form of energy? If so, which ones?
Why is energy important?
1. I found Energy all around Westgate even outside and all around the classroom. 2. The easiest forms of energy to find was motion energy and the hardest forms of energy to find was chemical and heat energy. 3. Yes some do, an example is sound energy the picture if the laddie screaming that could be motion energy. 4. Energy is important because it helps us do every day things.
