My Water Molecules Journey

4/30/2015

I was just sitting in the Ocean, when a Whale was swimming by! It was speeding so fast. And can you guess what was behind it?!? It was a Fisher Boat! It was chasing me! Than my “friend” Nick didn’t look and got crushed by the whale! Than slid off and got crushed by the fisher boat! Than he got Evaporated! Right before I got hit by the whale, I evaporated! I evaporated so fast that I beat Nick into the cloud! Nick could not join, and he got hit by the whale again.

Surface

Prediction

Actual

  1. The Sun (tape)
  2. Roof of a House (Foam)
  3. Buds of a Tree
  4. Part of a  statue (aluminum foil)
  5. Flower
  6. Part of the Slide (paper)

  1. I think that the water will almost make a hole through the tape. I also think that it will slide off.
  2. I think that the water will just slide off. I also think that  some of it will sink in the foam, but just a little.
  3. I think that it will make it droop even more. Also it will just slide down.
  4. I think that it will just stay on it but it will fall off.
  5. I think that it will droop the petals. Also it will make it "grow".
  6. I think that there will be a hole in the paper.
  1. The thing that happen is that my prediction cam true.
  2. My prediction came true.  The water did slide off, but it mostly stayed on the foam.
  3. My prediction came true! I think that it just went through the tree buds. i think that the pressure from the water made it droop.
  4. What happens is that If I did it in the middle, nothing would slide off. But I did it to the side and because the eye dropper was full, it was a lot of water and some slid off. I also tapped it which made it slide off.
  5. My prediction was incorrect. Because the eye dropper was filled all the way, and the flower was so small, the water spilled out.
  6. What happens is that the paper was on the top of the cup, so when the water was on it, the paper fell off the cup. It did not make a hole in the paper, there for, my prediction was not supported.

Reflection

  1. Which materials surprised you the most? Why?
  2. Which materials do you still wonder about? How do you think water will respond to that material?
1. I was most surprised by the paper. I was surprised because when I have a piece of paper and it is raining, it usually makes a hole.
2. Rubber and Tape (on the sticky side). For the rubber I also think that the water will just roll of of it because of it's materials. And for the tape on the sticky side I think the water will stay on it and keep on collecting on top of it.

Hanna's Science Fair

Previous Science Fair
I'm glad that I recorded my Science Fair project video before the real Science Fair because...

  • I practiced if I would say too much, or too little
  • Either if I would like to halve certain stuff out or not out.
New and improved Science Fair Video
By the time Science Fair was older, my video was much better because...

  • I had talked to little kids so I didn't sound so too goobly-gook.
  • I had done it in smaller time because kids were passing by and I said it faster.
  • I had a better display idea for what to bring (like the computer)

My experience with Melody was very fun. We first played the game "That's me and That's not Me". I said that I like drawing and we started to draw. I asked how to spell her name and I made a cool bubble letter drawing of here name! I than asked her if she liked jump rope. We watched double dutch video's. Than she left and we had a great time!!

I think she did. I not really sure because she did not have a facial expression. But when she did have a facial expression, it was happy.

I think that I should they to have more fun next time. Since they are 2ed graders, than I will connect more. I think that I should have more excitement as well.

Watery Earth Lesson 5-How Meteorologists Use Water

4/10/2015

Meteorologists use Rain Gage to measure how much water has fallen. A Rain Water Gage stays outside when it is raining to collect water. When the rain stops, they bring the Rain Gage inside to see how much water has fallen. Meteorologists also use a Sling Psychrometer. A Sling Psychrometer is used to measure the humidity, which is vaporized water.

Since Kangaroos habitat is usually in Australia, Kangaroos wet there armpits. They do to keep their body temp down. The blood runs close to the surface there and the moisture keeps the temp of the blood down a bit. (Credit: https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070522083332AAakiyQ)

Kangaroos are the largest living marsupials from the family Macropodidae. There are four species commonly referred to as the kangaroo: the red kangaroo, the eastern grey kangaroo, the western grey kangaroo, and the antilopine kangaroo. Kangaroos are usually found

When I first learned that I was going to Mars I was sooo excited! So I packed my stuff and flew all the way from Switzerland to Florida where I thought that I would first meet NASA. I was excited because my friend from Italy, Teo Izzi, was on the plane with me! He told me that he got the letter too! I would be flying with him to Mars!

When we got to Florida, Robert Gagne greeted us. Next thing I knew, we were packing our suitcases in the space ship! I was the farmer, so my bed room was closest to the garden area. also near me was the kitchen, and the workout room. I would sleep next to Akemi Kataoka, the nurse, Wu Chen, the chef and Antonia Salcedo, the Dentist. We were about to take off for landing when the spaceship had a malfunction! We had to wait eight more months! When we finally got ready to take off, Mars was too far away from us! So we had to wait another three years! THREE YEARS! Can you believe it!! After three years and eight months, we were finally ready to take off! On the spaceship, we decided who would do what and what problems we would face when we first got there. We then worked in committees and came up with ideas to solve the problems. After we landed we learned about the constitution. We said that we could bring guns. We had guns in a big factory and it went off! Everything exploded! Good thing that we made a teleported! We teleported back to Earth, but in 1843!
