In this project, we had to create a poster showing the organs Mr. Solarz listed on the board, and in their correct places. We didn't know where the organs were, because we had never learned this subject before. Next we had to take a video on Photo Booth, showing the poster we had made, each organ we had drawn, and it's place. Then we uploaded the video to Youtube, and put it on our channel. | This was a really fun project. It was actually easy, but super stressful. Since we couldn't use any resources, we had to just assume that the information that we put down on the poster was accurate. And then videotape ourselves presenting the poster, and post it on Youtube! It was scary knowing that people would see all of our mistakes, but fun taking the risk. The finished poster looked okay, not correct at all, but really good considering that we were just guessing. I learned a few things from this project, like, taking risks isn't so bad after all, ( as long as your being safe, obviously! ), and that working in a group, even when you don't really know the people you're working with, can definitely be more efficient and progressive, than working by yourself. Another thing I learned is that mistakes are important. Like, if Mr. Solarz hadn't told my group that you couldn't reshoot the video, then I don't think anyone in the group would have learned anything. I think Mr. Solarz assigned this project to the class because it would get us used to some of the things we would be doing this year, but more importantly, I believe he was testing us on our ability to take risks. The importance of this in a student led classroom is that being in one involves a lot of risk taking, and for most of us, that is a new concept in the classroom. |
