- British are picking on the colonists
- French and Indian War:
- French vs. British
- For land
- People died, money was spent
- Native americans took sides
- British won
- England spent to much money
- Ask America for money
- England taxes America
- Natives don't believe in owning land
- Cooper makes barrels
- King George made a proclamations that you can't go West of the Appilation Mountains
- Tax Collecters went to America to get money
- Currency Act: The British forced them to make the currency the same as England
- People start Rioting - No taxation without repersentation
- British made it so that you had to pay extra for newspapers, weddings, childbirth, funerals
- The congress decided to not buy stamps
- The Americans won!!!!! But on the same day...
- The Declaritory Act: The British can tell the Americans what to do and they have to listen
- Quartering Act: The soldiers have the right to sleep in the Americans houses and have the Americans cook them dinner
- Sons of Liberty: They made the British MISERABLE!!!!!!
- Townsend Acts: All those laws
- Goveners will loose jobs if the Americans fight the British
- George Washington says that the Americans should boycot England
- America won
- The Boston Mascher: British Soldiers were being teased, someone yelled fire, a soldier fired his gun, five guys were killed, Paul Revere wrote in the news that the soldiers killed them for know reason
- Loyalists: For the king
- Patriots: For freedom
- Paul Revere lied and so lots of people became Patriots
- Tea Act: Puts a tax on tea from other places but not on Brittan
- Boston Tea Party: Sons of Liberty dressed up as Indians and board a tea ship and through the bags of tea into the harbor
- Mayor of Boston didn't let them take of taxes
- America created the first continental congress ( Georgia didn't come )
- They discussed what to do about England, and wrote a letter to King George
- Patrick Henry says " Give me liberty or give me death!'
- Thomas Pane wrote " Common Sense"
- Are they going to declare war?
- How many people will sign the Declaration of Independence ?
- Who else is in the congress? A lot of people!
- What do they think about the Sons of Liberty? They thought that they were great.
- Will they keep doing boycots and protests or will they start actually going and fixing things in person?
- What about going to England and speaking to the king?
- How will America do any of this in general?
- Will Georgia be there? Yes but they came late.
- They wanted freedom!
- How much do things usually cost? Well, all of the tea dumped into the harbor would cost one million dollars today
