What I Think I Know About Mars

4/5/2017

What do I already know about Mars?
  • It has really icy areas
  • There is possible life on Mars
  • There are a lot of dust stroms on Mars
  • The lowest tempurature it can get to is 200 degrees below freezing
  • The highest tempurature gets to about 70 degrees
  • Mars is colder than a lot of the planets that are closer to the sun

  1. What do you know about NASA's plans to visit Mars?
  2. How long will the trip take?
  3. What supplies and equipment will the astronauts need to survive there?
  4. What do you think are the risks of traveling to such a distant planet?
  5. What would you want to bring with you?
  1. I know part of their plan is to travel there when Earth and the red planet are closeest to each other. They are also sending a rocket ship to Mars so that while it is there it can get fuel from the air there then once humans go to Mars they will be able to come home safely in that rocket. Scientist are also developing the idea of saving and storing air and water. Scientist are also going to grow food on the ship they came in on Mars so that they have food to eat. They are also recycleing their waste so that they can reuse the stuff that is not good anymore. Something astronautes need to do when they are in space is excersise frequently so that when they get back they will still be in good shape. They are planning on sending off many things to Mars before they get there so that they are prepared for when they do get there.
  2. 2 1/2 years
  3. Air and water. They will also need to have food.
  4. The risks are there could be so many dangerous things that could end up hitting you or your ship. Many things could go wrong.
  5. SOmething that I would bring with me is lots of food I would grow food I would save tons of energy and tons of food and air.

Write a blog entry called, "If the World Were a Village" and write about the following in paragraph format. (Don't respond to these questions individually. Incorporate them all into a paragraph.)
  • Explain what surprised you about the statistics of our world.
  • What upset you?  What do you wish were different?
  • What made you want to do something to improve a situation?
  • Can you do anything to help? If so, what?

This was a cool book. I was surprised that there are so many people and their languages that they can speak. I am upset that there is a lot of people in the world that don't have things like electricity. It is really sad because a lot of people miss out on things a lot of other people get to experience. I really wanted to improve this situation be helping out with a many people as a can so that as many people as possible can be helped. I could help people by making extra food and I could help out by doing community service.

    Nicole Marino

I am Nicole Marino, a dentist from Rome Italy. I think that it would be very important to have a dentist on Mars because we will all want good clean teeth so that we can easily eat. I also think it is important because nobody wants cavities and being on Mars not everyone will know how to take care of their teeth properly.
