Reflection/Synthesis Questions:
| Answers 1. Some unique properties that can be used to identify Solids are the particles don't move that much so it is usually pretty hard or if you put it on a fork it will not fall through the cracks. It also does not fill it's space and it has a definite shape and volume. 2. Some unique properties that can be used to identify liquids are they are wet if you stick your hand in it and it has an indefinite shape but a definite volume. Liquids can sometimes soak into solids. 3. Some unique properties that can be used to identify gas is it has an indefinite volume and shape. You also can't see gases. Gases also always expand or get smaller depending on the size or there shape. 4. I think that all solids can be divided into smaller pieces because they can get smaller and smaller until they are the size of an atom. I think this because every solid that I can think of that is larger than an atom can be divided into multiple smaller pieces. 5. I think that all different types of solids are made up of different atoms but all solids atoms are all packed together very tightly. I think that they are all made up of different atoms because they all have different properties. 6. I thing that most gases and liquids are made of lightly packed together atoms because they move around a ton so that must mean there atoms are more lightly packed than solids. |
