Reflection/Synthesis Questions:
  1. What was hard about the game? Explain in detail!
  2. Was the game a valuable use of class time? If so, why? If not, why not?
  3. Regardless of your answer to #2 above, if you were marketing this game to teachers, what would you claim this game is good for in the classroom? What skills do students learn from this game?

0
  1. It was hard because you can't see each others screen so you have to explain it with words and describe it so the other person could see it clearly in thier head and know what to do to fix the submarine.
  2. Yes, it was teaching or improving our skills to work together plus it was also a fun activity.
  3. If I was selling it to teachers I would say that it would teach them to collaborate and work together.

Reflections from Dubai

3/21/2017

My teacher, Mr. Solarz, was fortunate enough to travel to Dubai last week for an education conference and to meet former Top 50 Global Teacher Prize candidates for the Varkey GEMS Global Teacher Prize. He shared his unbelievable experience with us, and here are some things that I learned from our discussion:
  • I learned that we are all alike but we mostly talk about our differences and we mostly say that we are different because of our culture, our background, our religion, our skin color, and race. Actually we are very similar because if we all spoke the same language we would learn about others and how similar we are.

  • I learned Dubai has the biggest building in the world called the Burj Khalifa.

  1. What did you learn while reading this book?
  2. How did the person change the world? / What affect did this person have on other people?
  3. How can this inspire YOU to help others?
  1. I learned that lego started out as a wood toy maker until the shop burned down with everything inside it.
  2. They changed the world by making an engineering toy. It had an effect because it is sort of a stem toy.
  3. It could inspire me to make something using what I have to make something useful in everyday life.

World Poetry Day

  1. Why did you choose the poem that you chose? Does it have a message that you wish others to learn? Is it playing with language in a fun or original way? Why this poem and not a different one?
  2. What is it that you like about poetry? If you don't know, look through the poems that are being tweeted today to find inspiration!
  1. I picked it because I thought it was cool messing around with the words into names. I also picked it instead of others because I thought that it was funnier than others because it was manipulating  the words. It doesn't have a message and its just funny.
  2. I like the way you can play with the words and it rhymes. It is also cool because it can be funny sometimes.
