What do we Know? | What do we Want to Know? | How will I learn the Information? |
We know that fast food is VERY unhealthy, that some places don't even use real meat. We know that when you eat it and don't work out or go for jogs you get very fat. It uses sugar and piles in fat. One time I saw a big McDonald's truck unloading little packages of remade burgers. I presume that they just microwave them once somebody orders it. To me it is kind of disgusting. | We want to know why fast food is so addicting and why everyone loves it so much. I think because it has a bunch of sugar and fat in it, but we are still curious about why people still eat when they know it is SUPER terrible for them. I am also wondering if we can somehow discourage it from being a habit of eating it. | We will visit a bunch of websites and do a bit of research for our question. We had a bit of a brain-storm and had an idea to see if we could visit maybe someone who works at a fast food restaurant or maybe a doctor or nurse. We would ask these people if they think that fast food is bad for you. We already know this but we were curious if it is true. |
What did we Learn? | What Action did we Take? | What Questions do we still have? |
We learned that if you ever had fast food for more then a month you would probably die. We also learned that fast food is sugary and fatty. One of our best choices was to talk to a doctor or a personal nutritionist because he gave us valuable information and smart information. | We alerted people about the badness about fast food and why you should not eat. We also told people about what fast food can do to your body. When we Emailed the doctor we gave him a link to our website and we hope he shared it with other people. | Why do people still eat it even though they know how bad it is for you?Why doesn't McDonald's up the ante on making it healthier for America? |
I had a lot of fun doing this project not just because I was with one of my friends but because I learned so many things in such a short amount of time. One thing that I thought was really fun was when we watched the documentary about a guy who ate fast food for 30 days!!!!!!! It seemed like it was a really good documentary too because it showed everything up his feelings before to his problem in the middle too the end. We also had some trouble at one point. When we were researching we hit a big bump and couldn't get any information so we were kind of wasting time on some things on our website but after we were out of that slump It made us realized that we had made our website really good. In the beginning it was really easy because we knew exactly what to look up and we knew what we wanted. Even in period 7 we were cruising and we thought of how to get more information was to talk to an expert about the subject so we got to email a doctor some questions that we still had and he answered the perfectly. When we got the email back and we were so excited because answered them clearly and easy to remember.
I really liked doing this topic because I got to find out what was in the food at McDonald's, and I liked doing this because I actually was pretty curious for a while about this topic. I was curious for a while because I have heard so many different people tell me different opinions about what is in their food. I have heard that there is cow manure, fish eyes, pink slime and so much more. I have tried to research it but I just got bored of it and stopped. But when we did this during passion time it was somehow so much more fun. I probably had better resources when I did it during school. I had things like I pads, different websites, and really quality computers. When I found out some of the things I researched and have been wondering about I was astonished, flabbergasted, and amazed. This has been a really fun time on this passion time project. But once again this was overall an interesting and learning experience. This might have been my favorite round so far. We might have had only 1 so far but out of the 2 this was my favorite.
