What do I already know?
I already know that the concept of golf is to hit the ball with metal shafts and try and get it in the hole. There are obstacles in the course, like distance, hills, water, bunkers, rough... etc. I know that there are different clubs like drivers, putters, irons, wedges, hybrids... etc. I know that there are all of these tournaments that the pro golfers can play in, but the four most famous tournaments that you have to qualify to get into are the Masters, the British Open, the U.S Open, and the PGA Tournaments. I also know the game of golf has gotten much harder in the past years but the equipment has gotten a lot better.
What have I learned?
I have learned a lot of things about golf in the 10 periods. I learned that when the game started it got banned for 45 years! I know that they played with clubs entirely made out of wood, and the golf balls were made out of beech wood. Now there are golf simulators where you can hit the ball into the screen and it would go the same distance as a real ball would. Now I also know that one of the oldest courses (the Old Course) was built in 1574 and we still play at it to this day.
What do I want to know?
I want to know who the best golfer ever is (point wise.) I also want to know some strategies to play my best game. I'm also going to try and find out which is the most famous course is.
What action did I take?
I made a website and I researched a lot about golf.
How will I learn this information?
I will research about my topic or I might ask a expert
What questions do I still have?
I have one big question that I wondering a lot about. It is "what would golf be like in say 20-50 years." I'm thinking that the club heads will get so much bigger, if the golf committee doesn't stop it the club heads will just keep on getting bigger and bigger. Who knows maybe their might not be anymore real courses and everyone will just play on simulators.
I had a lot of fun creating my website and learning all about golf and how it has evolved. Some things that I learned is that almost all the materials were made out wood, like the balls and the clubs. One thing that was a little was some of the dates that I picked to show how it evolved weren't really a major turning point in golf history. I really liked this topic and I can't wait until the next project.
