What do I already know? People sometimes take out things from the book because they don't want the movie to be to long. You can use two cameras to film and put them both into the movie at the same time. People use fake blood and don't really have to touch each other with weapons. What did I learn? I learned that for stop motion movies they make puppets. Then they scan them into a computer and mess around with them. They can edit their hair or body look and make them breathe. It also a possibility to change their clothes and eye color. For makeup you can use plaster to make masks and carving tools help make the masks be more realistic. They can make a 22 year old women transform into a 90 year old women! They can also make a normal man into a green zombie! I really hope to learn more in the future to! | What do I want to know? How special effects are made and how people decide what gets taken out from the book version. I also want to learn fun facts for my website. What action did I take? I watched videos that gave me great information and I researched special effects. I also researched movies that were books and why they left things out. I made a website and YouTube video that explained my topic to others. I also told my friends about how cool special effects can be and I will continue to promote it in my future years of school. | How will I learn the information? Visit lots of websites and read books from the Memorial library. I will also watch videos on YouTube. What questions do I still have? What other materials do they use to make figures for stop motions? Why do they not make as much stop motions as they did years ago? Why aren't many people supporting movies even though they were bad. Did they even think about all the hard work? |
Reflection:
I had a lot of fun with this project! But I had some challenges to. I had to find different things about special effects because it has many different varieties. For example, there is makeup special effects, which makes someone look completely different. There are puppets which are lots of work. You have to scan them into a computer and first you have to make them. You make them out of lots of things like plaster and foam surprisingly. They mold for the mask out of foam. I think it was easy to make a website because last time I learned how to make it extra good so now it was a supercalifragilisticexpealidocious website! It was also easy to make my Trello card because now I know how to manage my time well. I liked making this blog post but I had trouble with spacers. They would not go away when I tried to delete them but my friends helped me and so did Mr. Solarz. Next time I will try to get more done in a period because it took me awhile to find good, solid, facts. Overall I had so much fun with this project and hope others will learn about this subject because it is so cool!
