Today was our first day of writing back and forth with our pen pals. We have been assigned four pen pals, mostly from the U.S., but some from other countries.

We wrote a general message to all four pen pals. Then we took screen shots of that message and posted it on this blog post.

We wrote back to individual students who already had written us. We took screen shots of their message and our reply and posted them on this blog post.

On the right is the way we will be assessed during these activities. In order to keep doing PenPalSchools, we need to be "Advanced" in all the categories. We can help each other get there, but we must get there!

Here is my reflection on the activity from class:

Whenever Mr. Solarz asks me to do a reflection but doesn't give me questions to answer, here are some of the things I can write about:

• What was hard or easy for me?
• What did I learn?
• What challenged me to think differently?
• What was fun or not so fun?
• What would I do differently if I did this another time?
• What advice would I give others who might do this activity in the future?

BUT - I always need to start by summarizing WHAT I did in the lesson. :)

Mr. Solarz had us do an activity where we had to draw and label many of the organs in the human body onto a poster. We couldn't use any resources to help us, so we had to do some guessing. I had a really fun time, but it was also a bit nerve-racking because I had to pretend that I knew what things were and how to pronounce them, when I really didn't! 

I learned that I am able to take risks and not worry about looking dumb on video, because we weren't supposed to know much about the organs yet. I'm looking forward to learning about what each of the organs do and where they are in our human body!

If I were to do this over again, I would probably want to do a better job of planning things out, because we kept on wishing we could put some organs right where we put other organs! I'm glad we did this, and hope other classes get to do this in the future!
