Watery Earth Lesson 7: My Water Molecules Journey

4/30/2015

Whoosh!!! There I was falling in the sky down to some strange planet called earth. Crash! Boom! Pow! Goes one other comet just like the one i'm riding on. 3,2,1, Crash! I somehow ended up in a big pile of water. It so loud all of the other molecules chatting about things i dont even know. It seems that all of these people have been here for a long time and have made friends.

“Ow! Jeez you would think coming from Precipitation wouldn't hurt so much.” I look over and another molecule has fallen. It sounds like hes talking gibberish or something. “Precipitation” I keep thinking back to myself what could that mean. I race over to the molecule to help it up.

    “Are you okay?”

“Yeah, I’m good. Did it hurt a lot when you fell from Precipitation?”

    “What?”

“You’ve never heard of the water cycle?”

    “No, tell me about it.”

Surface

Grass

Log Cabin

Yarn

 Paper

Concrete
Prediction

I think it will form as a bubble on the grass.
I think it will absorb the water.
I think that the yarn will not absorb the water.
I think that the paper will absorb the water.
I don't think that the concrete will absorb the water.
Actual

The water on the grass did bubble so therefore my prediction was correct.
The log cabin did not absorb the water so therefore my prediction was wrong.
The water on the yarn did bubble so therefore my prediction was correct
The paper did absorb the water so therefore my prediction was correct.
The concrete did not absorb the water so therefore my prediction was correct.
Reflection
I was not supervised by the results because I have seen the water from the rain on the grass in the morning.
I was suprised by the results because whenever I have seen woood after rain it is soggy because it has absorbs that water.
I was not surprised by the results because my prediction was correct.
I was not surprised by the results becuase I always get water on paper.
I was not surprised by the results because my prediction was correct.
  1. Which materials surprised you the most? Why?
  2. Which materials do you still wonder about? How do you think water will respond to that material?

  1. Overall, I think that the Science Fair was a valuable experience because...
  2. I definitely made some mistakes along the way, but I learned from them. Here are some examples...
  3. If I were given the chance to do anything differently, I would...

  1. I got to share my interest with parents and lots of big and little kids.
  2. One mistake is when I was sharing with some parents I gave the wrong information and instead of keep say the wrong information I corrected it.
  3. I would try to put more pictures on and have displayed what I used.
By the end of the Science Fair my presentation was better because I felt more confident in my presentation.
Was not here to record my first video.

1. Describe your experience.
2. Did your student leave our room feeling good about themselves? How do you know?
3. What will you do differently when we meet Mrs. Arce's class?
1. When the kindergarteners walked in I found my kid and introduced myself.  We found a spot and started to introduce myself. I asked my kid his name but he didn't answer. Instead of waiting for a long time I asked him again and he told me that his name was Justin. We played the game called That's me That's not me. I did not learn so much because he was a little quite. I told him that we had a controller that turned on flashing  lights but he was not so interested in them. So instead we decided to draw. After we finished drawing before I knew it it was time to clean up. So we said goodbye and he got in line to leave.
2. I don't know if my student left feeling better about him self because he was very quite like me sometimes.
3. Next time I will try to be more energetic and more open about myself.

Our Mars Simulation

4/6/2015

1. Write at least one paragraph that describes what happened in our Mars Simulation from start to end.

1. The very first thing we did is we came up with a place we came from and a name for us. Like I am from Argentina and my name is Elin Diaz. After we came up with our names and culture we learned about mars and how we were going to visit it. First we had to come up with a name and spot to place our new country on mars. We looked as a class on Google earth for a place to land our ship. The class and I chose I spot right in between the poles and the spot where it is hot. Once we found our spot we decided to brain storm problems that could happen when we are on mars. We split up into groups to fix the problem. To write our preamble we had to write our own preamble then we voted on which one we wanted best. Of course in a constitution you need the governments powers, Everyone chose one of the branches that they wanted to be in. Once you were in your groups you would write about what your group does. After that we were writing our bill of writes when everything started to fall apart. We were debating on if we should bring a gun when our teacher told us we died because someone shot a gun in our dome and it exploded.
