Over 1,500 volcanoes in the world.
Japan has more than 100 volcanoes.
Yellowstone has a volcano.
All surrounding Geothermal energy is very hot.
Mount St. Helen is located in Washington.
Yellowstone is considered a super volcano.
The magma chamber can be either in the Crust or mantle.
The Crust of the earth is made of plates.
Snow and rain slowly go down and percolate through the lava and it takes 4,000 years.
When two plates collide it can make a volcano or a mountain.
Magma is way below the volcano.
Basalt can be found in the moon.
Obsidian can be used to make arrowheads.

He grew up during the Great Depression in the urban surroundings of a smoky industrial city. At an early age he showed a wonderful talent for drawing. Due to an illness at the age of 6 he was confined to bed; his mother and brothers would entertain him for hours by showing him how to draw, trace and print images. Andy loved to draw throughout his childhood. He attended Holmes Elementary School and Schenley High School and graduated at the young age of 16 in 1945, finishing 51st in his class of 278 graduates.

Tessellations

A tessellation has to go up, down, left, and right with no gaps or overlaps.

These are not tessellations.

The first one is a tessellation but the second one isn't. Look on the bottom to know which is which.

Answer this question: "What was most challenging about this activity? Was it easy to make a proper tessellation?"

It was most challenging part of the activity was making the tessellation. It was hard because there were a lot of things you had to follow to make the tessellation and it was hard doing that.

Angus McClain

He was a Loyalist.
A Captain.
A master carpenter woodworker.
There are different uses for different knives.
They use fat wood to help start five.
Apple Cider was a common drink.

Joseph O'Fallon

He was a trapper.
He was an Irish man.
He collects beaver fur.
He had two knives and wore a sash to keep things in, had wool, a shirt, and moccasins.

Leon duBois and Catherine

Leon was a housemen and merchant.
They had 3 children that survived.
2 children passed.
12 children total, but not all survived.
The women wanted straight backs.
They were Patriots.
They didn't like taxation.

Janette Lundahl

She was a fiber producer.
She was adopted.
She was a Patriot.
She was seven before she was adopted.
It was more difficult to make yarn back then.
She had a farm so she could rase sheep.
She lived in a small house.

Christine MacLean

She wore wooden shoes.
She beliefs a little more in Patriots.
She is from Philadelphia.
The men gathered in the tavern.
The women had to report anything they saw illegal.

Peter Smith

His job is to hire other scouts.
He is a Patriot.

Captain John Ira Parke

His job was to measure lands.
Tally pens were markers.
If you had socks around your ankles it was embarrassing.
Spain was an ally of France.

Charles Walker

He was a land agent.
He could ride a horse.

Molly Brandt

She beliefs that a turtle holds up the earth.
The Indians made beads.
She wears warm clothes all the time.
Women owned everything.
They were soys on both Loyalists and Patriots.

Zebadiah

He was a carpenter.
He was a Patriot.

This information is valuable because it is important to learn about the Revolutionary War. Knowing these people is a good impact and the Revolutionary War because they were alive back then and could tell people many things about the war.

Students should all goto see this Historical Reenactment because it is fun and educational. When I was there, I learned a lot about them and found some of their different personalities.

I am excited about meeting these people because I want to learn more about what they do and how they live. I am curious about Molly Brandt because her brother is from the Iroquois tribe and they are Native Americans. I am excited about Charles Walker because he was in some wars that I want to learn more about.

What did you learn about the angles of your two polygons?
What did you learn about the sides of your two polygons?
What resource was most valuable to you while completing this assignment? Why?

1. I learned that my two shapes are alike in lots of ways. I learned that they had a couple of things that were different too.
2. I learned that they are both parallel on every side but they had different angles.
3. My Student Reference Book was the best because I would gather the facts and then find out if they were differences or not.

1. What was the most surprising thing you learned about energy during this entire unit? Why was it surprising?

2. What was your favorite part of this energy unit? Why was it your favorite?

3. Where is energy found?

4. How would you define energy?

(If you have time, go check out the other Rube Goldberg inventions in the hallway. Compare and contrast them to yours. What do you like better? What ideas can you take from theirs?)

1. The most surprising thing I learned in this unit was all of the different types of energy like the heat, motion, gravitational, light, elastic, and solar energy. I was amazed by all the different kinds.

2. I liked doing the experiments because we would learn about cool things and it was also fun figuring out what to do and how to do it.

3. Energy can be found in many places. For example, heat energy and light energy can be found in the sun.

4. I would define energy by saying that it is a source that can be used in many things. I think it is a source that is powerful in different ways.
