One day, I was on a trip in the summer, in California. We went to Coronado Beach. I can remember seeing the beach for the first time and being so excited. It was beautiful, seeing the bright sky and listening to the waves whooshing rapidly. I could smell the salty water in an amazing breeze. I took off my shoes and sprinted right into the water. I could feel the water hitting me and splashing water in my mouth. The salty water tasted horrible, but I didn’t care. Right then, my little brother Shaun and my dad ran into the ocean water too. I was having so much fun I didn’t even notice the people around me. It was so amazing. My brother stayed close to my dad, while I had an awesome time running around. All of a sudden I heard my dad shout to me. “Lucas watch out!” he said. He told me to watch out and all of my happiness went away and I looked around me. My dad grabbed my and pulled me away from the spot I was in. I was scared. I asked him what was wrong, and he pointed to the spot I was in. There was a little blob floating in the water. A jellyfish, and it was alive. I could’ve gotten stung! I looked around me, terrified that there would be more. I got closer to the shore right when my dad asked me what was wrong. “You don’t have to worry about getting stung, if I were just a little more careful,” he said. That didn’t persuade me. I slowly walked back in the water, and got the place Shaun and my dad were. By the look on Shaun’s face, he was scared too. Later that day, I wasn’t scared of them anymore and I went super deep in the water where the big waves are. I had such a fun time. It was definitely one of the best trips I have ever had. I love the ocean and always will. |
