5 types of rods. | For the rod and slice of butter slid down. MY EVIDENCE!!! The copper took 2 second The aluminum took 7 seconds The Brass took 85 seconds The plastic took 2640 seconds |
1.Aluminum
2.Plastic
3.Brownish red is called copper
4.Gold is called brass or copper
5.Bamboo
2.Plastic
3.Brownish red is called copper
4.Gold is called brass or copper
5.Bamboo
I predict that: The copper would slide first because it seemed that my dad would use the copper for cooking so I would have thought that the butter would slide first. Then the metal with the stick of butter on it would slide. Also in my science project at my old school we studied conductors and we used copper than metal.
| 1.The heat energy transfered into three different rods were copper,Aluminum and Brass. Then a few minutes later the butter on the plastic started slipping. 2.The connection I thought we had was the water and the thermometer. The differences was the rods and no food coloring and slices of butter. 3.My results for the bamboo was incorrect the bamboo was the last one to fall in fact it didn't even fall but my last one was like in the middle instead in the end. 4.The two best materials were the copper and the aluminum. My evidence was the seconds it took for the butter and the stick slid down 5.The 2 worst conductors or rods were the brass and the bamboo. My evidence was the second (right on top of the page) and the brass took 85 seconds and the bamboo took 2640 seconds. 6.Yes I think water is a good conductor because electricity can travel through water like electrolytes. 7.Yes it does matter which material to use like for a science project or when your electricity is out like you can't use wood to start a car.We use conductors for starting a car or fixing lights. |
