        The "Give me Five that I chose was one that is very important for helping us reflect on what we're doing bad and good. For example, in my video I said that the floors were dirty so we should try doing better at that for the rest of the day. I like because we get to reflect at all times and not just at one point of the day. For this Give me Five, you must make sure everyone is listening because if we don't fix it, Mr. Solarz won't be happy and we might not get positives son the checklist.
        This is important in our classroom  because we are student led and student have to do this give me five. In this class we are reflecting at all times, and when we do this it is reflecting on how we did bad on something we cxan work on it and be better at it. So, when you're looking to do this, look carefully on what we did bad and how we can work on it. Make sure to be specific!

    Uses of "Give Me Five" in our Classroom

    In our classroom, students have the power and authority to announce "Give me five" any time necessary during class. Of course, it comes with great responsibility and my students develop that responsibility throughout the year. Here are some examples of how "Give me five" was used this year by my students.

    Examples of "Give me five":
    • Ask the whole class a question after you've asked a few individuals
    • Give reminders of our Daily Goal (& old goals) when it's not in action
    • Reminders to clean the desktop of our computers before shutting down
    • To fix individual behavior issues so individuals don't feel embarrassed
    • To announce that you are presenting a Mini Lesson
    • To share important information that everyone will benefit from
    • To remind the class of hallway behavior
    • To fix something that we're not doing well (an in-class goal)
    • To help students get back on task
    • To help someone who is doing a "Give me five" but is not getting everyone's attention
    • To calm us down when we're hyper or off-topic
    • Announcements about our Rituals (i.e. "There are no more Respect videos left.")
    • Reminders to do our Collaborative Responsibilities (i.e. "Don't forget to move your magnet.")
    • To transition from one activity to another
    • To get everyone's attention when you are about to start your job (Recapper, Evaluator...)
    • To make quick announcements that will help others ("Whose pen is this?" "Permission slips due tomorrow.")
    • To give directions or reminders of directions ("Don't forget to tag your blog post!")
    • To give the class feedback (positive or corrective) ("We need to do much better in gym next time!")
    • To give computer tips ("Don't forget to save your blog post so you don't lose it!")
