What do I know?
  • How to bake multiple things.
  • Every night I have that still is very tasty but includes Fruit.
  • I know how to make snacks for family and friends
What do I want to know?
  • How to make healthy snacks.
  • How to make Yummy snacks that are mostly Healthy.
  • Tons of healthy recipes
How will I learn this?
  • By researching online
  • Reading books
  • Watching Videos
  • Making a website
What did I learn?
  • I learned multiple new recipes
  • I learned new cooking techniques
  • I learned how to make versions of real snacks but more healthy.
What action will I take?
  • I will make more videos of me making the snacks.
  • I will teach my friends and send them recipes.
  • I will make more of these snacks and bring them to parties and other places.
What new questions do I have?
  • Can I make a website teaching other cooking and baking technique?
  • Can I teach others by making a website that teaches others tips and trick for cooking and baking?
  • Can I teach other some cool tricks with fruit they make things in the kitchen easier?
My Reflection:
It was really hard to make the videos when I make the food because sometimes I am too quite or the camera falls and it takes a while to get it backs up. But it was also very fun to create all the videos since I got to make a yummy snack and eat it and also give it to others. It was also very interesting to try to find new ways to create popular snacks. I had a lot of fun creating my website and doing all of the steps because I got to make things unique and fun. I love trying to figure out how yummy and how healthy I can make each snack. Next time I would choose a project a little bit more different because it was hard to create the videos at home because I would have to find I right time so next time I might just explain them and give the things you will need to create it. If someone else wants to do a project like this then make sure to make sure you have a video for more projects just saying how to make it and what you need to do.

What do I know?
  • I know that both Japan and Hawaii are a country
  • Hawaii is a part of America
  • Japan is a part of Asia
  • What did I learn?
  • I learned that Hawaii's culture is very similar to japans culture
  • In both countries the cultures are very old, and go back in times.
  • In both countries the cultures are very old, and go back in times.
  • I learned that Japan helped form Hawaii.
What do I want to know?
  • I want to know about Japan
  • I want to know about Hawaii
  • I want to know what are the differences and similarities between Hawaii and Japan
What action will I take?
  • I will try to learn more about the different kind of people and work with different people in the world not just with one kind of people in the world.
  • Not judge people by how they look  or what there skin color is.
  • Try to teach others to not judge people by how they look or what there skin color is.
How will I learn this?
  • I will learn this by using books
  • I will learn this by watching video's
  • I will learn this by using the internet
What new questions do I have?
  • Why did Japan bomb Pearl Harbor in Hawaii?
  • Why did Japan help Hawaii to become a state?
  • How come that the Hawain culture and Japan's culture are so similar?

Reflection

I learned many different things about both Hawaii and Japan. Some things I learned about them is that; some of the companies that are seen in America are actually  Japanese. I also learned that Japan helped form Hawaii to become a state, and that in both of the countries; Hawaii and Japan, there culture is similar and there culture is old and goes back in time. The most fun part of this project was either the research part or the part when I got to make the website. The most difficult part was probably find good sites for the research but still that was fun too! The most easy part for me during this project was making the final end video of what I have learned at the end.

What do I know?
  • I know that drawing the animals will be a little challenging.
  • I know that I want to do lots of different kinds of animals (house pets, farm animals, animals that live in the wild and animals that don't fit in with the other topics).
  • The animals will need to look realistic.

What did I learn?
  • I learned that trying to draw animals that are on a video are actually easy.
  • I learned that you shouldn't put a lot of preasure on yourself because I wasn't able to get some of the animals done and I wasn't able to do farm animals.
What do I want to know?
  • I want to know how to draw all kinds of animals.
  • I also want to know how to draw all of the animals.
  • I also want to learn how all of the animals and their body, can be different.

What action will I take?
  • I will tell show others my drawings of the animals and tell people that looking on a video isn't that hard.
  • I will also try and do the best that I can to tell people that even if you are bad at drawing, you just need to keep getting more marbles into that cup.
How will I learn this?
  • Fabulous Things to DRAW
  • Youtube
  • Mrs.Miller
  • Michelle (worked on drawing)

What new questions do I have?
  • Can I draw farm animals?
  • Can I draw a baby tiger, baby panda, and a baby giraffe?

Reflection

The thing that was most fun was being able to learn how to draw and drawing. I can draw lots of new animals and I could never draw them before. I was so happy to be able to draw as a passion time project and it was a fun experinece. I would tell others that they should not do lots of animals and do the most important ones first. If they did all of the animals that they wanted to do, they would run out of time. It wasn't easy but it wasn't difficult. I would have not put as much preasure and to not do as many animals. Since I did lots of animals and I didn't have lots of time, I wasn't able to get them all done. I shouldn't have done a website because that was more preasure. I wanted to get everything done.

Q.
What new questions do I have?
  • How can I draw a realistic nose?
  • How can I draw hair?

Reflection:
I learned how to draw a face and how to make the face look realistic which I did not put in my question but it just came up. I really love this project because drawing is something I find soothing and fun because you get to express yourself which is important to do so that your feelings can be shared not held inside of you. Drawing faces are fun because you can make different things! I really like this project because drawing is a passion that I really like. I learned how to draw faces and experimenting. Lips are easy to draw and the videos I watched made it easy for me to draw. I would research more. I would tell my family and friends how to draw a face and I will make and try to use diffreant tools to make drawing a face easy.

What do I want to know?
  • What makes roller coasters so dangerous? -Madison

  • I can show others our website and have them learn some cool information! -Madison
How will I learn this?
  • Watching videos

  • Watching TV shows (There is a show called extreme water parks.)
What new questions do I have?
  • How do they test the rides to make sure they are safe? -Madison
  • Do they ever notice that a bolt is out before it is tested? -Hailie
  • What happens if someone does get hurt on the ride? What refurbishments do they make? - Madison
  • When they need to fix a ride how often does something else that they didn't notice go wrong? -Hailie
Hailie's Reflection:
While doing this passion project I learned that there are a lot of mistakes when building rides and there are a lot of accidents.I mean doing this project will make me more cautious while riding a ride. The most fun part of doing this project was probably when I was researching all of the different roller coasters because I liked seeing all of the rides and what they are about. It was also fun making the website and just seeing tons of rides. Advice that I would give for anyone doing this project is to make a website if you can so that you can share it with everyone! Also make a video so you can also share it. The hard part of this project was figuring out which rides are in my top ten and which are not and it was easy to put in blog post for the website and all of the rides. I definitely recommend this project.
Madison's Reflection:
I loved this project! It was really cool to learn about different roller coasters and water slides. I enjoyed making our website. I always love doing that because you get to create it and customize it to make it your own! It was pretty easy to find videos to watch about these rides. We found good ones that gave us lots of information! Next time I want to be a little more efficient because we were falling behind a little bit. It was difficult to analyze the different rides to find what was the most dangerous. Some advice that I can give is that make sure that you think that your top ten are correct. I constantly had to change mine after watching videos of the rides again and it turned out for the better. Over all I totally recommend a project like this!

Can I try to figure out what the best way to build a working catapult is? By: Calvin, and Kyren

What do I know?
  • I  know that you need tension to launch your projectiles.
  • You need a certain amount of weight depending on your amount of tension.
  • You need to use the right projectile for the right catapult.
  • There are many catapults
  • Some catapults rely on tension
What do I want to know?
  • I want to know what a fulcrum is?
  • I want to know how to determine when you have the right tension for a shot?
  • I want to know how much weight you need to support a certain catapult?
  • I would like to be able to predict the parabola
How will I learn this?
  • I will learn this by testing and experimentation.
  • I will learn this by  watching videos and reading information from websites.
  • I will learn this from real life experience

What did I learn
  • I learned about the fulcrum.
  • I learned how a catapult is made.
  • I learned that tension is not all you need, you also need stability.
  • I learned that the engineering process takes a lot of trial and error.
What action will I continue to take
  • I will continue to make mini catapults.
  • I will continue to edit the blog.
  • I will continue to experiment and explore areas of intrest.
  • I will continue to try to get thing to fly as fast and far as possible.
What questions do I have
  • How can I make better catapults that shoots farther?
  • Can I make a catapult that is more accurate?
  • What os the best way to modify projectiles to make them go farther while maintaining the same or greater weight?
  • How did seige catapults get so much power?
Reflection:
Kyren:
This catapult project was fun and educational because it showed me the purposes of different parts of the catapult. I learned that the fulcrum provided the base and that you needed some support when you have a catapult that bends. We got the idea of shooting multiple balls from the catapult from someone else. It was also fun because we got to use the catapult to shoot stuff across the room. Somethings that I would do better were that To make it smaller that what it was yet still have it big. The easiest part was building it because of the duct tape. I think that this is my favorite project this year.

Calvin:
I learned that there is a lot of trial and error for the design process and that there is a lot more to making  catapults than tension. The most fun part was probably experimenting with tension stability and weight as well as messing around with different functions of the catapult. It was difficult to add tension  without making it shoot down or up to much, it was also difficult make it stable and it many tries to get it stable enough to move or shoot.  The easiest part was finding materials to make the catapult with, meter sticks.  Next time I would make sure to start with models and then go bigger instead of starting big and getting smaller.

What Do We Know?

  • Algorithms are move-sets on a rubik's cube or any other twisty puzzle.
  • Their are many different types of cubes.
  • Their are around 2000 different kinds of cubes.
What did we Learn?
  • That there is a process to solving a cube
  • That it is really fun
  • Our video take a long time to explain  how to solve

What Do We Want To Learn?

  • Different types of algorithms.
  • Different algorithms for different cubes.
  • Faster algorithms.
  • More efficient algorithms.
What action will I take?
  • I will think of many other ways to solve different cubes.
  • I will keep using cubes
  • Find other cubes online, I have never heard of.

How Will We Find This Information?

  • We will look at websites.
  • We will watch youtube.
  • We will read books.
What new questions do we have?
  • How many pieces are inside of cubes?
  • Are they making any new cubes?
  • Are there cubes that when you solve them all the sides are different colors?

Elijah's Reflection:
The hardest part of this passion time round 4 round was that when we were making the video that i was do ing worse than when i was solving / speed solving in normal life and when we were demonstrating in our videos how to solve the different kinds of puzzles I had found that it was hard to solve in camera and I highly recommend that the people should try to do better in their videos in the future. Also, this was one of my favorite projects I have made. Next time I would maybe research, to learn more.

Charles' Reflection:
When I was cubing remembering the steps of solving was the hardest. Advise for new comers from me would be that if you are really interested do it, but it is really hard to do so it might take you awhile to learn. Elijah taught me fast so it was easier to do and he taught me with specific detail. I next time would maybe make a longer video because viewers may not understand all the movements that we are teaching them about. Next time I would maybe research a little more, to learn more. This was a fun passion time project to do.

  • We know that you fail more than you succeed in Rube Goldbergs.
  • We know that there are different kinds and they each work in a different way.
W

  • We want to know how to make good Rube Goldbergs, to make everyday tasks.
  • We want to know the most efficient way to teach them to others.
H
  • We will gather materials from home.
  • We will took for things for the Rube Goldbergs to do

What do I know?
  • I know that Sidney Crosby is MVP of Penguins according to NHL Network
  • I know Patrick Kane is MVP of Blackhawks according to NHL Network
  • Joe Pavelski could be a consideration for MVP of shraks
What have you learned?
  • I learned every team's MVP
  • Every team's MVP's stats
  • I also learned about new players that I never heard about on teams
What do I want to know?
  • The MVP for each 30 NHL teams for the 2015-2016 season
  • The MVPs' stats, leadership and things they have done for their team
  • Why the Player earns MVP?
What action will you take?
  • Teach others what I learned
  • Take it further and learn the top players for the whole NHL
  • Find out other sport MVP's and players that have stats
How will you find out?
  • I will find out with websites such as Hockey-Refernce.com and NHL.com
  • I will find out with youtube and stats
  • I can also watch NHL network more often to see highlights of the player
Any more questions?
  • Who are the top players in NHL?
  • When this season is over, can I find each team's MVP this season?
Reflection: I learned a lot like every team's MVP and why and also their stats. I saw lots of highlights and learned about new players. The most difficult thing was to choose the MVP and then write about him because I don't really like writing. Another hard thing to do thing to do was the video. It took long and I stuttered and lost my place in the video at one or two points. If I did this project again, I would also compare the MVPs I chose to other people on their team to support my evidence. I should also compare them to other people on other teams to prove my point (like to maybe prove that a player is very good and good enough to be better than other people on other teams). If I had to tell others advice if they did this project, I would recommend them to use people's highlights and most certainly use Hockey-Reference.com because it says a lot of stuff about the player.

Reflection
This passion project was fun and easy, and hard all at the same exact time! It was easy because I really got the subject and it was hard because I had to learn how to get it! I had a little problem finding a video that was in english that actually taught me what a pinhole camera is and how it works! I learned so much on the pinhole camera and how it works and how it burns through a tiny hole and all! It was most fun when I made mine at home! I really liked
