1. How does the title help me know what this text is going to be about?
Answer: I think that this book will be about someone called Henry that was a slave that escaped, or tried. 2.What do I know about this topic or subject? Answer: I did a passion time project on the underground railroad and slavery. There is a link to it a the bottom. 3.What questions do I have? Answer: I wonder what is a freedom box and what will it do in the story. 4. What type of nonfiction is this? How does that help me prepare for this read? Answer: I believe that this book is probably a literary nonfiction. 5.Is there a particular way that the text is structured? Answer: This book looks like it is structured like a story.

1. What do I understand?
Answer: Slaves don't have right to know things and stand up. Slaves are treated like objects. The new master isn't nice like the old one. 2. What is unclear? Answer: It is unclear how Henry will survive being upside down. It is also unclear how he survived with so little oxygen. 3. What new questions do I have? Answer: Will Henry ever see his family again? Why can't slaves sing? What will Henry do about his wife's worries? |

Answer: I learned that Henry actually brought a tool to make air holes and biscuits to eat. 2.What are the important ideas that stuck with me?
