| Predictions: I think that the butter will slide in the following order: aluminum, cooper, brass, plastic, and bamboo 1. The heat energy went inside the rod, which was touching the butter. 2. Both today's experiment and yesterday's experiment showed energy being conducted. The main difference was that the first experiment tested how long heat energy transfers to something with no heat energy. The second one tested a series series of materials to find out which one was the best conductor. 3.I was mostly right about my predictions. I thought that metals and chemicals found underground would make the butter melt first. 4. Aluminium and cooper, because they melted the butter fastest. The rods conducted the energy to the butter faster than any of the other ones. 5.Plastic and bamboo, because they melted the butter slowest. The rods conducted the energy to the butter slower than any of the other ones. 6.I think water is a great conductor because if you put electricity in it, it conducts the energy very fast, making it powerful. If you are in a bathtub filled with water and drop something with chemical energy in it, it would kill you. 7.I think it matters because if we want energy to be conducted, we would need to know what would be a good conductor. If you put on a jacket in the winter and stay warm, then the jacket is a bad conductor because it doesn't conduct your body heat into the air. |
