- 250 years ago when the French and Indian war started
- 1756 French began to move south into Ohio territory
- Washington had to surrender to French on July 4
- The British kept relationship with Cherokee
- The British had been trying to take a French fort for a long time
- The British improved in war, won some battles
- Then the British decided to launch a attack on the French, the Cherokee came with but the British were to slow for the Cherokee so some of the Cherokee left
- The British tried to put a stop to that
- Drove a wedge between the British and the Cherokee
- The French fort broke and had to abandon it
- The Cherokee felt like they were cheated
- Cherokee got mad at the British and stole livestock and animals from local farmers
- Some people stealing got shot by farmers
- British captured bunch of Cherokee leaders and put them in jail for disobeying
- One was realesed
- Then the Cherokee that were left raided small villages in South Carolina
- The Cherokee need gunpowder so they attack a British fort in search for gunpowder and they won 12 cannons but no gunpowder (British hid it)
- The Cherokee hunt down the British and take the gunpowder
- Later the British attack the Cherokee for revenge and the Cherokee have to surrender to the British and become allies with them
- The British and the Cherokee Indians were allies going into the Revolutionary War against the colonists, and the British still lost and so the Cherokee were now basicly nothing because they lost a ton of people and were weak from battling for over 15 years
- The uniform weighed from 15-60 pounds
- The British called their muskets Firearms
- The musket held only one bullet at a time, and you put your bullets it a cartage box
- You can fire a musket once about every 20 seconds
- Your body will adjust to the heat once you wear it a lot
- Cherokees trained in Barracks
- The nearest Cherokee fort was 100 yards away
- The nearest British fort was about 400 miles away
- The British used a line formation since you could only fire every 20 seconds one line would fire then crouch down, then another line would go up shoot then squat
- Most battles ended in hand to hand combat
- sometimes the enemy would charge because you could only fire every 20 so they invented a musket that had a sword tip on it so if they did charge you could stab them
Reflection: This was a very cool skype and I thought that the man was epeshally cool because he did it just for our study and that was neat.
