K.
That there is a such thing as spirits and that spirits are nothing like people say.
We know that there are lots of people that claim they have seen spirits.
Lots of people say they have evidence of spirits.
Some people fake pictures of spirits.
L.
We learned that the spirits can be what they say they are but mostly what they aren't. We also learned that spirits are real from the evidence of ghost recorders and ghost cameras.
We have learned to watch out for fakes, and pranks.

W.
Evidence proving spirits are gentle and real. Also that spirits are not always what people say they are.
We want to find some evidence that there are spirits.

A.
We will tell the world how spirits are even when our passion project is done. We already helped the world with our website and Payton's  TED ED talk.

H.
We will research and find out the truth about spirits. We also will research to know how spirits are.
We will research online all about

Q.
Will spirits always be like this? Will scientist ever find the true meaning of spirits?
Do spirits live on forever?
Will spirits always be thought of as spooky?

Our Reflections

Payton's Reflection: I had a great time doing this project, to me it was like climbing inside of a mystery trying to figure out what it means. This project helped me understand what I have always wondered. I used to think that spirits were just a myth, or maybe the  invisible walking dead watching you sometimes. But now I know that I was wrong. I know that I they can be evil, and they can be good. But mostly they can be the souls of your family members watching you grow up and be safe.

Bela's Reflection: I really enjoyed doing this project. I learned about how different my views on spirits and most people's view on spirits are. I think they are mainly peaceful, and like real humans. Most people view them as scary and evil. It was fun being able to work with my partner Payton. I enjoyed having a partner to collaborate with, we both had unique views to contribute to the project. Next time, I might not want to do a website, because I've done a website each time. I think I should try to step out of my comfort zone a bit.

How Can We Help Stop Bullying?  By:Emily G. & Alison S.

K
I know that bullying isn't nice, and that it happens to a lot of kids in the world to day years ago and later on!
W
I want to know why people do it and, if they do it what are they going to accomplish?
H
I will find out by reaching in my mind and looking for what I don't like about bullying, and looking for different kinds of bullying and researching them!
L
We learned that bullying can spread really fast and bullying is not just being mean to one person for only a period of time it is being mean to more than one person and it is continually going on.
A
We made posters so people can learn about what we learned and realize what is going on around them.
Q
How does bullying happen does it happen over time or start right away with no thinking about it? In high school what percent is cyber bullying, verbal bullying, physical bullying?
Emily's Reflection - I really learned a lot from my passion project. We had a meeting with Ms.Mac and she told us that bullying isn't just calling people names and then stop bullying them in a couple of days. It is when someone keeps repeating that action and being mean to people for a while.  Also that Cyber bullying is the most common bullying.  Also that people who are bullied don't usually stand up for themselves.

Alison's Reflection -  I wanted to do this project because I wanted to prevent bullying. I wanted to help because I knew a lot of people who have gotten bullied before. When I started this project I wanted to make posters because we could hang them around the school for kids and adults to notice and to help if they saw anyone getting bullied. I am so happy that I did this project because I helped and changed a lot of people!

How do Claw Machines Work, and can I make One that Works? (Luke)

K: Claw machines are plush full boxes with a claw that you pick them up with a claw. These require lots of skill. They have different amounts of strength.
L: I learned how to make things work without electronics. I learned how to use strings to make a certain things move with certain motions. I learned how to compromise when challenges happen.
W: How to create one that works. How they work. The way that they adjust the strength and how to create a claw that requires no electricity.
A: I will try to make more things out of supplies that I don't have a good background with. I will try to think outside of the box for problems.
H: I will use multiple websites YouTube videos and observation to find the facts.
Q: What other types of machines will I make next? What other materials could I use? Could I add electricity to my projects? What other projects could I make replicas out of cardboard?
Reflection:
This project was very fun. Creating the claw machine challenged my brain to make things work and do what their supposed to do. It was fun to see the different ways to make things work. I was able to put my own personal touch on to my project with the designs on the sides and top. The hardest part was making the claw move and making the claw pick up the stuffed animals. This was one of my favorite passion time rounds because of the challenge and the creativity.

K: I know that all candy is pretty much unhealthy, but I don't know that much. The candy's that are really unhealthy I know are skittles and m&m's.
L: I learned that Jolly Ranchers are actually not as bad as I thought. They were ranked 3. Twix are worse than I thought at last. Milky Way's are one of the healthiest candy's on earth.
W: I want to know which candy is the healthiest so that I can eat those. What candy do I want to stay a way from?
A: I got the answer that Milky way is the healthiest. And Twix is the worst. Skittles probably are not very good either. But tootsie pops are not that bad for you.
H: I will research a lot and look on the back of the of candy for the nutrition labels.

Q: Are some candy's actually healthy?  How healthy on a scale from 1 to 100? Do the UN-spoken of candy's tend to be healthier than popular candy?

                                        Reflection

I had a lot of fun doing my project. Candy is probably my favorite thing ever. So that I got accepted to do this project was amazing! I think I'm going to do my Ted ed talk on this topic. I hope that my next round practice is just as good as this one was. I think I learned a lot and I know now what candy's I should and should not eat. For example I probably don't want to eat Twix and skittles. But if I really want to eat candy, I should eat milky way's and  tootsie pops. I loved this project and I really hope everybody else did too!

                           K
We know that their are many of endangered species that need help so they don't become extinct.
We also know that you can donate money to foundations so then they can save the endangered animals.
Also we know that if we don't help soon we won't be able to save them.
We also know that poachers can kill them and sell them for money.
                        W
We want to know all the ways you can save these animals.
We also want to know most of the endangered animals in the world.
Also we want to know why these endangered species were being killed.
Also we want to know where the animals live.
                       H
We will research a list of all the endangered species.
We will also watch videos telling and showing us about different endangered animals.
                           L
We have learned that there are lots and lots of different endangered animals in the world.
We have also learned that to help you can donate money and adopt a endangered animals.
Also we have learned that lots about some different animals that are endangered.
We have also learned that there are two foundations called the U.S Fish and Wildlife and WWF ( World wildlife Foundation ) are very involved in saving endangered animals.
                         A
We will add more to are website and learn more about endangered animals.
We might donate money to a foundation to help them save endangered animals.
Also we will watch more videos about endangered animals
                       Q
    How do Animals become endangered?
    Why do People kill Animals?
Why did the Endangered Animal act fail?

Aidan's Reflection: I think this round was very enjoying for me because I've always loved this topic since I was a kid. I have always wanted to help them and now I know how. I have learned that you can help animals by Donating money and adopting a specific animal. Also I have learned that the Endangered animals act failed and that lots of animals still need saving.  It was fun because I got to learn lots about animals which I love and I got to learn how to save ones that need saving. Although I loved the project, finding ways to help was harder because only some websites had good facts. Another thing that was difficult was that we had limited time to make our posters and that made us a little rushed.
Nicky's Reflection:
I learned how to help animals and also I truly learned the meaning of animals in life and what they should mean to all of us. I also learned that animals are just as important as all of us even if they are just animals. One of the most fun things I did was creating the posters for the school. This was also very fun because we because I thought the posters would encourage people to help animals. One thing that was difficult was finding quotes for our posters because we had a lot and they were all good.
