Song-Writing & Recording

Step 1: Choose a popular children's book or story or nursery rhyme or fable.

Step 2: Brainstorm all of the words, phrases, objects, characters, settings, and themes that go with the story.

Step 3: Tell a story through a poem that you write that mimics a simple tune or song using the words and phrases that you brainstormed.

Step 4: Look at "Lost Boy" from Ruth B as an exemplar (images to the right). Links:

  - Karaoke music

Step 5: Create a blog post that has the following items:
   1. Title: The story title and the song title.
   2. The lyrics typed out using proper stanzas.
   3. The karaoke music linked to the page.
   4. A recording of you and/or others singing the song.
