There are several types of leadership in this world, but not every great leader is always the FIRST to do something. There is great value in FOLLOWING a leaders idea, so that others might follow too! But, make sure what you are following is a good idea, otherwise you're just a lemming letting others make decisions for you!
Be the FIRST FOLLOWER.
And if you miss out on that chance, MAKE A MOVEMENT by joining in on good ideas!
Be the FIRST FOLLOWER.
And if you miss out on that chance, MAKE A MOVEMENT by joining in on good ideas!
Transfer this skill to new situations:
- We won't get many opportunities to join in a dance craze at a summer concert in our classroom, but I bet we'll have other opportunities! Let's brainstorm some now!
- When someone is being excluded from a game at recess and someone steps in to include them.
- When someone shares an idea while working in a group and it isn't liked by others. Someone steps in and says something positive about their idea and builds upon it.
- Someone asks to sit at your lunch table, but someone else says, "No." Someone moves over and says, "Come sit by me."
- Music, P.E., Art?
- Before School or After School?
