The signpost theme just shows what is the main idea of the book. We discuss what we think it is and most of the time we come up with a conclusion what the theme is at the end of the video. An example is  down below (video). A tip to do a theme video well is to only stay on what the theme is. Sometimes people talk about different things that have nothing to do with the video.
          This signpost is important in our reading because it can lead to great discussions and it can show the viewers before they read the book what the theme is for that book. The question it forces you to ask is "what do you think the theme is and why?"

       Character Trait with evidence is avery important sign post. This is an important sign post because while you are reading it is good to notice that the character is growing into something that he/she was not before or that the character is changing big time. For example, in my book Becca was a mean and big bully to Anna, when one day Anna's friend Caroline told Becca that Anna really wants to be her friend and not her enemy. Then the next day at school Becca started to act more friendly around Anna becuase she wanted to be her friend too. In the video you would talk about what happened and give evidence about it. Some hints tips or tricks to finding these situations in your readings are to always look back in the book to see if any characters have changed.

This sign post is a very important part of our reading becuase after you figure it out you will probably be able to guess what is going to happen next in the story now that the person is going to be acting different. The question you should ask yourself is how is this going to change the rest of the story?
