How will we get Water, and Create a Water System that we can Drink From? By: Mikey and Elle2/14/2018
Problem On Mars it's freezing at the poles and in the winter it can get below -145°F. About the highest the temperature can get is about 70°F on a summer day, but at night the temperature can plummet to below -100°F. The seasons are the same on Mars but each season lasts for a different duration. The seasons are the same because the Earth is tilted 23° and Mars is tilted 25° so we have the same seasons on Earth as on Mars. The polar ice caps will shrink and possibly disappear all together during the summer months. Though the polar ice caps will form back in the winter months. On Average the temperature of Mars is generally -80°F. It is very cold on Mars, and at night, relative humidity levels can rise to 80 to 100 percent, with the Mars air sometimes reaching the atmospheric to the point where no more of one thing can be absorbed. Solution Since it's freezing at the poles on Mars, we could do 1 of 2 things, we could either just try to completely avoid the poles, or we could try to design space suits that are warmer than the normal ones that will be probably be using. On Mars a summer day can only get up to about 70°F so we could try to get space suits that are colder. We could possibly make space suits that you control the temperature though and then we wouldn't need more than 1 space suit for each season which would also fix the problem of it being -100°F at night. On Mars we may have have to prepare for the seasons on Mars differently because they last for a different duration on Mars than on Earth and the years are almost twice as long and we'd also have to keep in mind that during the winter it will get extremely low, so I think that we should have a heated transportation system, if possible on Mars to travel throughout our territory, another way to fix it is we could travel underground as it is warmer towards the core of the planet so we could dig a tunnel throughout the planet. During the summer on Mars the polar ice caps melt and shrink and occasionally disappear, so then we could avoid them altogether, or have special gear designed for the polar ice caps and during the winter the polar ice caps will come back. The average temperature will is generally around -80°F, I think we should bring warm clothes to wear under the space suit. It's normally cold on Mars so I think we should prepare for really cold climates in general because if we did the thing where we wore warm clothes under our space suits, then we could just not wear them under and wear something normal under it instead if it's warm. So then I think we should live close to the equator and then we could make a river to get the water from the polar ice caps to us when they melt.
