​What the goal means:  This goal means that we have to treat every one as if they were Mr. Solarz. So for example if I was talking to Abby and I was being mean to her that means that I am treating Mr. Solarz  not kind and I am ​disrespecting Mr. Solarz. It helps us learn how to treat every one the same way even if they are our enemies or not our friends. It also helps us be good friends as have lots of respect for every one in our classroom, even if at the begining of the year we were not good friends. 


Why the goal is important:   This goal is important because it teaches us how to have respect for everyone not just our friends but for everyone in our classroom but even everyone you meet. It is also important because than we will learn how to be good friends, to everyone we meet. 


How we will know if we were successful in meeting our goal:    

• We will handle disagreement with each other quick and will not argue the whole day.
  
• If we do argue we will quickley find a answer to our problem and solve are problem. 
  
•  We will be friends with every one even if there not the best friends.
• We will help everyone even if they do not want your help but they need it.
• Be nice, kind, helpful, careing, etc to everyone.

What the goal means:
It means if someone is doing a give me 5 you cant interrupt other people. One because it is rood. 
Two the rules for a give me 5 are

• Eyes on me
• Ears on me
• Mouth closed
• hands free
• And body facing me

Why the goal is important:
​It is important because if someone is disagreeing what someone is saying it could start a huge argument and every one could be yelling and the everybody would be interrupting.


How we will know if we were successful in meeting our goal:

• ​If there is no Interrupting
• ​And no arguing
• And every body is silent on give me 5s

Why the goal means:
This goal means to listen to the sub with all our power because Mr. Solarz always says "Listen to whatever the sub says even if she and or he does something different. It also means to never say that we don't usually do this, always do whatever the substitute says. The sub will always follow the sub plans that Mr. Solarz writes, thats why we say that we have to go with the flow because it's basically Mr. Solarz teaching because he wrote the sub plans.

Why this goal is important:
This goal is important because without it then we probably couldn't survive middle school without this skill because we are going to have   different teachers with different opinions. This would also help because we could go with what ever the teacher says even if he/she says "Go Crazy" (This would never happen) then we could go crazy. ​That's an example of going with the flow.

How we will know if we were successful in meeting our goal:

• When ​we are listening to everything that the teacher says
• When we are listening well and making good progress with everybody and get along with everybody
• Becoming good partners and friends with everybody in the classroom
• When we are listening with all our power and respecting the sub with all are power

What the goal means:​
​     It means that we need to stay on task, all the time. You can't get distracted by little things and not try to be distracting. If we are always distracted, we will never get much done. We need to make sure, that we always on task. If we aren't on task, we aren't going to know everything and not get everything right. It can also make Mr. Solarz crazy because we aren't doing what we are supposed to be doing. Instead, we are goofing off.
Why the goal is important: 
       It is important because if you aren't on task, you aren't doing what you are supposed to do. You aren't understanding everything, that is because you weren't on task. Mr. Solarz will get so mad because you weren't on task. You need to be on 100% because then you understand everything, and most likely get more things correct. 
​How we will know if we were successful in meeting our goal: 

• Mr. Solarz isn't as frustrated as much
• Getting more done
• Not getting distracted
• Understanding it

What the goal means: Our goal all year long is to earn a SILENT DAY, which is a day where our teacher can't talk from 9:05-3:35 and we have to lead the class without any of his help. He will leave us Sub Plans and the schedule will be on the TV, but we have to lead each other in order to have a successful day with no adult supervision (although he will secretly be working in the back of the room for legal reasons). This goal will help us earn that day and ultimately prepare for that day. We need to be well-behaved on on-task all day, even if there's no adult forcing us to do so!

Why the goal is important: If we don't work towards this goal, there's a chance we won't earn a SILENT DAY, or if we earn it there's a chance we won't meet our teacher's expectations on the SILENT DAY. We need to practice being independent, student-led, and able to take direction from our peers. Even beyond SILENT DAY, we need to learn these skills so we don't grow up relying on adults to think for us and make all of our decisions. By practicing now, we are becoming responsible, young adults!

How we will know if we were successful in meeting our goal:

• We will handle all disagreements quickly and maturely without adult assistance (No Bossiness).
  
• We will anticipate decisions that need to be made before it's too late to make them.
  
• We will listen to anyone who is trying to lead (unless they are being purposefully silly or inappropriate).
  
• We will use metacognition to to ensure that we are working at all times, without needing adult reminders.
  
• We will help our peers in positive ways, so they will have a successful day too.
  
• We will step up and be a responsible leader when needed.
  
• We will constantly be thinking, "What would Mr. Solarz want us to do right now?"
  

What the goal means: As a student led classroom, we as a whole need to make sure everyone is responsible and is a leader in our classroom. When kids do Give Me 5s, the rest of the class needs to focus and listen to the person doing that Give Me 5. This is because he/she is owning Mr. Solarz's power so all student have to treat that person like Mr. Solarz. Unfortunately, some students don't listen to Give Me 5s and keep talking so that is when it is disrespectful and the person doing the Give Me 5 calls off their name. We use that power usefully so we don't abuse the naturally given power, this is because it might get taken away or limited! We mostly use those Give Me 5s for reminders and transitions. This is helpful because it will remind us of our schedule, that is up on a mini TV so we can look at it. 

 ​What does our goal mean?: It means that when we finish our work we should then help people that are not done so that everyone can finish there work.

What the goal means:  This goal means that when you finish you should help others not just sit there and wait around, instead you should look around and see if anyone needs help. Look at there paper/screen and see if they need help or not. 

What the goal means: Work-It-Outs are used when you fill out a sheet of paper, because you made a bad choice and got in trouble. Mr. Solarz will tell you to go Work-It-Out in the hall. This goal encourages to limit the amount of Work-It-Outs
