Explain how the matter in each ingredient can be traced back to plants.
Explain how these ingredients can be traced back to the sun.
What MATTER in the food originally came from producers?
What ENERGY in the food originally came from the sun?
How is energy transferred from the sun to ingredients in your favorite foods?

Reflection Answers

Well say that a ingredient is pork, they get their matter and energy from the plants that they eat. But everything gets traced back to the Sun.
These ingredients can be traced back to the sun because the animals that we eat ate grass and the sun helps the grass grow.
The matter in the food that we eat that originally came from producers was the matter that came from the sun.
The energy in the sun in the food that came from the sun is the matter that came from the sun.
So the energy that originally came from the sun goes into the grass then say that deer eat the grass then we cook the deer and eat it.

Look at the image below that shows a portion of a forest ecosystem. Name at least five components (living or non-living things) of the ecosystem that you can either observe directly or infer.
What are three (or more) interactions that might occur in this portion of the forest ecosystem?

Reflection Answers

Livings things get really good stuff from ecosystems, like nutrients and good proteins from the other animals around them.
Some evidence that I have to support my answer is that animals eat other animals who get their protein.
The definition of an ecosystem in my own words is a environment where the same type of animals live together. Another one is a place that has a source of oxygen, food and water.
A question that I had about ecosystem before this lesson and I know that I found it out, it was "what is an ecosystem?"
Some things that I was from the image were deer, grass, water, trees, and rocks.
Some interaction that might happen in this ecosystem are the deers might play, fight, and feed each other.
