Reflection Questions 1. Can you feel it when your pupils dilate? 2. Do you have any control over your pupils when they dilate? 3. What do we call this when a reflex happens without our control? 4. Why do our pupils get bigger in the dark and smaller in the light? 5. How does this reflex protect our eyes? | Answers1. No, because the different types of light changes the way your pupil looks. 2. You do not have any control of your eyes being dilated unless you count you turning the lights on or turning the lights off. 3. A reflex that does something by it self is called a involuntary reflex. 4. The pupil gets smaller in the light so it can block out some of the light and not have to much. Your pupil becomes bigger in the dark so it can let in more light so you can see. 5. This reflex protects our eyes because if we let in to much light that would damage our retina and if there wasn't enough light we wouldn't be able to see. |

Ruler Reflex Reaction
Questions
| Answers 1. It was more difficult to catch the ruler using the sense of hearing because I didn't know when he was going to say the sound which made me want to squeeze my fingers before he dropped it. The sense of sight was the easiest because I could see when he was going to drop it and see when I should squeeze my finger. 2.I could use the sense of smell to catch the ruler by having the person let out a strong smell when he is going to drop the ruler so I know when to squeeze my finger. 3. I could use the sense taste by having someone put a piece of food/candy in my mouth when they are going to drop the ruler. 4. I used my senses by when the brain saw the person dropping the ruler it sends a signal threw the nerves down to my finger telling the finger to squeeze and catch the ruler. 5. No, because when you have the sense of sight, hearing, and touch you know when it was coming you you had control. But with blinking you don't have any control because it is a involuntary reflex which means it happens without your control. No, all the senses weren't used in both because we had control on the senses in the ruler and not in the blinking activity. No, because you don't have control on blinking and it automatically happens by it self |
