Lesson 6: Sunlight on the Menu (45 minutes)

I am Sorry if you can not read it. In the top right it goes sun then it goes grass, cow, Hamburger. On the Bottom right it goes Sun then onion. On the top left it goes grass, cow, milk, cheese curds, reddet, and then cheese. In the bottom left it goes sun and lettuce.

3. What MATTER in the food originally came from producers?
4. What ENERGY in the food originally came from the sun?
5. How is energy transferred from the sun to ingredients in your favorite foods?

Answers

1. The matter in each ingredient can be traced back to plants because every ingredient starts as a plant. Like how a cow would not be able to survive with out the grass because it needs the nutrition to be able to produce muscle.
2. These ingredients can all be traced back to the sun because the sun helps grow all of the plants and the animals need the plant to survive and eat. 
3. The matter in the food that originally came from producers are the animals because the animals need the producers to be able to survive. 
4. The energy that originally came from the sun is the calories that is in the meat and the food.
5. The energy is transferred from the sun to my favorite foods is from how every food starts as a plant and how the sun grows the plant and the animal eats the plant which provides the nutrition and muscle so that you can have a hamburger.
