How can I teach people about tenkara fishing? By: Andrew and Lucas

What do we Know?

We know that tenkara fishing is an Asian type of fishing. Also that the rods have no reels so you have to use your hands, and that it is made to be used in streams. We also know that you can't catch huge fish with it or your rod will break.

What did we learn?

We learned that tenkara fishing is a lot like fly fishing and not really like fly fishing. We also learned that tenkara fishing can't handle big fish. Also that it is made for small streams. Last we learned that it is a really fun thing to learn about.

What do we Want to Know?

Is tenkara fishing easier than normal fly fishing. If me and Andrew can make a working tenkara rod using school supplies. Also if you can catch the same fish as regular fishing and what the differences are in both types of fishing.

What Action Did we Take?

Lucas and I made a website to help others learn about tenkara fishing so more kids know about it. Also we made some videos on crafts for kids to do when they are bored and want to play a fun game or make a marking map.

How will we Learn the Information?

We will make videos and watch videos. Also that we will use google to find more information, and we will take pictures. We will also use the information we already know about tenkara fishing.

What Questions do we Still Have?

We are still wondering how we can land a fish, and how to tie the tippet on. Also how it got invented and how it got to America? Last but not least we are wondering what would happen if you got a big fish.

 Lucas's
Reflection

I loved this project at first I knew nothing  with help form Andrew and research in knew quit a bite.It was super fun to do the crafts  section and build all the arts and crafts. The website was fun for helping me learn about TENKARA fishing so I liked that and making the website was fun in itself. This project is pretty hard But I liked it.The most fun thing was making the crafts section was my favorite for making.I learned a lot about tenkara fishing I learned that it is Chinese and that it is like fly fishing and not like fly fishing. It wasn't that easy I thought it was pretty hard.I could try to make more detail in the KWHLAQ.

Andrews Reflection

The easiest thing was making the website because we had such a hard time finding good facts to use. This is because it didn't take much work to create it and we knew how to make it. The hardest part was finding our facts that would work for our website. Also finishing our passion project on time. What was fun was getting work with Lucas and getting to do a passion time on something I love! I could try to find more facts next tome so I can have more information on our website for others to see. If any one wanted to do something like this I suggest that you have some background knowledge on it or else it will be a little hard.

Your project is really cool and interesting! I do think that your trello card and KWHLAQ should be a bit longer next time. I think that your video was really cool because I think that you described everything really well in it! Overall I think that your project was very interesting!

I think one of you is over ruleing the other in the video I think you need to let the person lead more in the future.

COOL TOPIC! I really like that you did it on a type of fishing that not a lot of people know about one thing is I would let your partner talk more but over all cool project

Nice job you guys! You did a great job. I loved how you put detail in your videos and let each other talk at different times instead of just talking over one another. One thing that I do suggest to improve you passion time topic is to maybe make your video a little bit longer because your project is very interesting and I would like to know a bit more. Anyway, you both did a really nice job! :)
