What Do We Know? | What Do We Want to Know? | How Will We Learn The Information? |
We know that there are so many unique sports in different parts of the world. We also know that the sports do not seem unique or different to them (the people that are playing the sports) because it is part of their culture. Just like, for example, football or basketball may seem odd to people from different parts of the world just because they don't play it normally. | We want to know if we can learn how to play different, unique sports that aren't regular to us. We are both very athletic and both know how to play so many sports, but I know that neither of us know, yet, how to play sports like blow ball or fireball soccer. We also want to know where all of these different sports are being played. We have some ideas on where they might be played and they might be Asia, Africa, Europe and Antarctica. These might be the main places that the unique sports that we will research will be. | We will learn the information by watching videos about people playing games of their sports. We will see different tips on how to play the sports in the best ways. We will look on different websites that say the rules and how to play directions. We will also give information in our how-to videos. |
What did I Learn? | What Action Did I Take? | What Questions Do I Still Have? |
We learned that there are many different types of weird sports, and we didn't even completely understand all of them. Like for example when we made a video for sepak tekraw we didn't completely understand it, although we got the just of it. We also learned that event the materials that these sports require are unique! Like for example, when we made a video for mayan ball we didn't have a net to use, instead we used to chairs and balanced a ruler in between the 2 chairs. | The action that we took is we taught others about the lesser known sports of the world. The way that we did this was we made videos on an iPad. We found the rules for each sport and tried our best to understand them and then made a video for it. | Some questions that we still have are how come the different cultures cause different sport opinions? Why don't people who come from different countries or states come to our state and country and have ideas to change our point of view on sports? Could some of these sports become what we call "normal"? |
This project was super fun and probably my favorite project so far. I think that Charlotte and I worked extremely well together. The hardest part of our project was probably finding unique sports that we were actually able to do with the materials available to us. Charlotte and I came across lots of sports that we weren't able to do and we were frustrated with. I think that the easiest part was probably doing the sports once we actually understood them. I think that me and Charlotte worked really well together and that we had tons of fun. I think that playing these sports
I really liked doing this project because we got to learn about different types of sports from different parts of the world. The more challenging part of this project was making the videos though. The reason that they were so challenging to make was because neither of us completely knew all the tips and exactly how to play each sport. It was also hard because we didn't always have the exact thing or material that the sport called for. Like we needed a net for one of the sports, we improvised and used a ruler instead. But for some reason, that was also the funnest part of doing our project. I actually liked improvising and finding something that worked as a material. We had to look for different things that would fit what they actually use during playing the sport. Mostly I liked this project because it was just fun overall. I also liked working on finding different sports, because I like sports just in general.
