Assignment 3: Invent a new setting which would fit in comfortably with all the other strange settings in The Phantom Tollbooth. Start with an idea, figure out what makes your setting unique, and then decide on a name for this place and find an image on Google Images that looks like this place. Write the scene in the book when Milo and Tock arrive in this setting (think about how Norton Juster does this for all the other settings in the book). Make the scene feel real and use correct narration & dialogue (as well as grammar, spelling, punctuation, etc.). Be sure to be descriptive, so we can all visualize ourselves being there!
When you are done, read other people's posts and comment as one of the characters from the book (or one that has been created by us) continuing the scene in this new setting. Use proper punctuation & indenting.
Example: The following is an example of what can be done, but it has not been written correctly using dialogue and narration with quotations marks and indenting new paragraphs (it has all dialogue and no narration). Read it as an example, but write yours using correct punctuation and paragraphing. (Please don't copy this student's setting!)
