Assignment 2: Invent a new character who would fit in comfortably with all the other strange characters in The Phantom Tollbooth. Start with an idea, figure out what makes your character unique, and then decide on a name and find an image on Google Images that can work for your character. Remember that all new characters teach Milo a life lesson. What will your character's life lesson be?
Write the scene in the book when Milo and Tock meet your character (think about how Norton Juster does this for all the other characters in the book). Make the scene feel real and use correct narration & dialogue (as well as grammar, spelling, punctuation, etc.).
When you are done, read other people's posts and comment as your newly invented character interacting with their newly invented character. Use proper punctuation & indenting.
Example: The following is an example of what can be done, but it has not been written correctly using dialogue and narration with quotations marks and indenting new paragraphs. Read it as an example, but write yours using correct punctuation and paragraphing. (Please don't copy this student's character!)
