- You need to be born in the U.S. to be president.
- You have to be at least 35 years old.
- Elections take place every four years.
- Republicans want to lower taxes.
- Democrats want to raise taxes for things like health care and public education.
- You need to get more of the Electoral Collage to win. (270 at least.)
- Selecting a good running mate can get the candidate more votes.
- January 20th (Inauguration day) is the new presidents first day in office.

- Born in Massachusetts in 1745.
- Graduated from Harvard at age 20.
- Married Abigail Smith and had 5 children. (One of the was John Quincy Adams.)
- One of the founding fathers.
- Decided to press charges for the Boston Massacre.
- Represented Massachusetts in the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
- He was the 1st vice president, and after that became president.
- John Adams was a federalist.
- Negotiated a peace treaty with France.
- Lost the election in 1800 to Thomas Jefferson.
- Died on July 4th of 1876.
- His son became the 6th president.
- Happens from 7am-7pm.
- Happens on the first tuesday of November unless it is the first tuesday.
- Have to be 18 to vote.
- Have to be registered.
- To register you fill out a peace of paper and sign it.
- You can go to jail if you vote for somebody else.
- An election judge doesn't judge anything, they just work there.
- Ways to vote:
- Poke out something.
- Fill in the bubbles.
- A computer.
- Touch screen. You have a card and all the information goes on your card and two other things.
- You don't have to vote for everything.
- You can vote for president, but not judges. Etc.,etc.
- In 1951 a law was passed that a president can serve 8 years at minimum.
- In 1777 there was an attempt of the constitution but, it was bad and thrown out.
