| 1. When it was noon, the shadow became short. When it was in the morning/away from noon, the shadow was long! 2. The Sun was the suspect for the short and long shadows. When at noon, the sun is at it's highest point which causes it to shine daylight "more" and so the shadows are short (because the sun is on "top" of it) 3. When the time of day is about 3 hours (or more) away from noon, the sun will be "low" in it's arch pattern throughout the day. This means more sunlight will be blocked because it is low, therefore the shadow is longer (it is kind of weird). 4. It occurred when the time of day was at noon or around that time. This happened because the sun was above us so it would cast it's sunlight on top of the object, instead of the side so since not a lot of sunlight is casted on the sides of the object, therefore the shadow is short because there isn't a lot of sunlight to block. 5. The most challenging part of this lesson was to keep the battery on the clipboard and drawing the shadow to be exactly like the real shadow. This was hard because the battery moved and rolled off the clipboard a lot from the wind. 6. I learned about shadows and why they are long, when they are long and why they are short, and when they are short. I also learned about sun trails! |
